Horrible performance by Montreal. They have no offense! 80% of time they stay in their zone!! They can't keep hoping to win against Pittsburg with 3 shots in the 2nd and 6 in the 3rd. The defense is sure better than last game. But they're not going to beat Sid with such horrible offense (ya ya 3 goals wtv.. Most are luck) |
Montreal is outclassed in nearly all aspects of the game except goaltending. In their case, a strong defence is their best offence. I say that it was a great game because they played within their capacacities, more over they played with a "strategy" (yes i agree, 50+ shots on goal per game isnt one, but the Caps are something else in that department, they take shots from the parking lot on net...), not just resist an all out attack, but i find it more to be close to a mind game, counter attacks being so effective, not only are they pissing off the other team, but now they got them a bit stressed as in "guys,we cant make a mistake or else these guys will cash on them" (thus the late nasty hit by Adams, throws them off their game a bit). Its all about realizing what you have and work with it efficiently, cause hey, they aint got much of a choice. I guess its pretty much around Halak (Edit: Closing the front of the net/rebound pressure, aka "the trap") and counting on the top guns dealing the lethal blows when the opportunities come . To exaggerate it: Its called "Art of War" and Sun Tzu wrote it.
