It ISN'T allowed to be out, if you ask our government. But it happened - it's out. There is absolutely no degree of internet debate that will change this fact.
The ability to deign what is allowed and what isn't is determined by the authority with the most substantial amount of force behind it; the information Assange is in possession of grants him an uncertain amount of leverage, and this directly equates to power. Is it sustainable? That is yet to be determined. But it's obviously there, otherwise, once more, we would not be interested in remarking upon it.
The crux I see your posts gravitating toward is in the fact that information DOES have the power to cause harm, be it through a chain of events or as a consequence of unequivocally criminal activity. Child pornography is obviously quite heinous and has lasting repercussion for everyone involved, even witnesses. As a product of dissemination, it should not be tolerated under any circumstance of government-ensured freedom of information, because its existence is a remark upon an original breach of freedom in the first place. How is wikileaks different? Notwithstanding the sheer variation of documents that have been released thusfar, the few of interest detail calculated and harmful plots to conceal breaches of basic human freedoms; Assange is the one blowing the whistle on the child porn, so to speak, only the pervert is our own government, and the authority he reports to is our citizenship. Would it have been better if nobody had found out they have a pedophile living in the neighbourhood? If we had just swept it all back under the rug and none of the embarassment had gotten out? I bet you'd like that, Nou. I bet you'd like that a lot. PERVERT!

Here is what it really comes down to guys and gals. You are all naive, immature, idealistic people who's view on the world is not shaped by any sort of logical reason or understanding of the realities that occur all around you, but on this utopian idea of what should be.
You have a paranoid fear of all authority, especially authority that you do not fully understand. Worst of all is that your paranoid fear of government goes along with your active participation in the same government. If you vote than you partake, and from what I am reading here most of you do not understand what you are doing when you elect officials to represent you and your interests.
You chalk up the failure to secure elected officials that truly represent you either on conspiracy or a general perception that anyone who is in power is evil and not going to represent you. So instead of organizing and changing things from within for the better, you allow an organization to take the reigns, a single person whom you have no real clue as to what their ideals or agenda even are and then champion him like some sort of hero.
Its not only massively stupid but a flagrant disregard for your civic duty as citizens of any sovereign nation.
Not only does Julian Assange want to create panic and fear within government, his stated goal is that if governments do not become more open, but more closed then that is just as good because it will hurt the governments. If your government is hurting then so are you, because like it or not, they do actually provide many services to you that are essential and needed for your day to day security and happiness.
So wake up and really look at what is going on here, its not this awe inspiring moment of clarity and great truth (this information isn't even particularly interesting so far) but an attack on your government in an attempt to destabilize it and make it weaker so that who knows what will happen. |
yep. you're a fucking idiot.
