We love minimal here, it's just not that well known and when you put a dj that's well known for a certain style of techno instead of just constant minimalism when people expect minimal it won't go over well. I thought his set was ok, from what I heard of it. As for what I had said before I didn't know the whole story and I retract my statement.

Review:

At 5pm on Saturday with the snow coming down out of the sky, faster than i could clean off the cars. Me & the approxamatly 20 Londoner's almost decided to stay in London. After deciding to pack into 4 cars we took off around 6:15pm for Toronto. Not more than 15 minutes into the drive myself and the 4 others in my friends cars almost died. 250 feet from an intersection driving down the middle lane with the slow lane full of cars turning right and the left hand full of cars turning left, and no cars in our lane. The light at the next intersection turned green. My friend releases the brake and pushes the gas, all of a sudden on the right hand side a bus pulled out to turn left right in our path. With no time to make the stop my life flashed in front of my eys (as i barely said a word) all i heard was my friend say "OH SHIT" and he hit the brakes, quickly he realized this didn't work. In an almost preplaned video game like move, he yanked on the E-brake(hand brake), turned the wheel to the right as we fish talled swiftly around to the right around the back of the bus. Then he swiftly cranked the wheel to the left holding the e-brake. At this point we where totally around the bus totally missing everything in our path and ready to turn right, which would put us back on the road we were driving on.

Basically for the rest of the drive we all feared our lives. Finally after the 3 hour drive to Toronto we made it safely to the Guvernment.

At 10pm we got into line and were in by 10:30. Only to be in the Guvernment with no dj playing. I was glade i didnt have to wait in the rain. At around 10:45pm we were allowed into the Kool Haus, as we walked in Porter was dishing out soon pumping tunes, pefect for warming us up quickly. With in the hour the room was full of wame happy people dancing, unlike the weather outside of the club. When Junkie XL came on i was truely amazed by his stage presence, as well he laid down some pretty sweet tunes which kept me dancing for a while. When Picotto came on i danced for about 20 minutes until i was bored. Oh my he must of did some trippy drugs cause he wasn't playing the right tunes. After that i wondered over to to the Guv to meet my friend that was in coat check, also checked out Second Sun. WOW they were killing the Guv!!!! I heard a few tracks from them, then just as i was going to check out Dekoze in the Gallery I heard 'Crush' and there was no way i wasn't going to dancing until it ended. Finally made it to see Dekoze who was pumping some awesome tunes, exactly what i love to see from Dekoze. Made it into the Kool Haus again to hear the end of Picotto's set which i thought was going to be 4:30. At 4:30 i was up front waiting for B&J, when i seen them come on stage behind Picotto. They were there behind Picotto pumping there fist for 1/2 hour until he gave up the tables. When Picotto walked back to talk to them for a bit, i think he offered them some of his coke he had(or whatever he was on). LOL. After that B&J's came on with the hard fist pumping tunes. The set was good, but not as good as labour of love and i was expecting more from them. Highlight of the night was hearing "Mr.Brightside". It was still great and the night was a 9.5/10

Great to talk to and meet the very few TA's i saw.

P.S Happy Birthday Ashley!

Mwah!

lol Tell me about the sketchy subway system. I was coming back from Christopher Lawrence with Katy and D and couldn't figure that damn thing out.

I got off at the wrong stop and was about to get back on when the doors started closing. I had my arm in the doorway and it continued to close anyways. I was so out of it that I just left my arm in the way. The door almost closed on it until Katy the terminator grabbed both doors and pulled them open to my amazement. Thanks for saving my arm Katy .

I hate the subway .

he was supposed to go 2:30-4:30, but he wouldn't get off the decks until 5...we were all mad!!

Ultra Spin is an all access event with crap loads of DJs, which is why the average set was about 2 hrs
