Ok i have had

Ortofon Night clubs - High Output Good clean sound...But the needle weres out quickly and is costly to replace

Ortofun Pro Scratch - Sounds just as good as nightclubs imo but has better bass response and higher output.. Not to mention these needles DO NOT SKIP

Shure White Label - IMO the best sounding of the 3. everything is realy crisp but what puts me off on these is the low output level. I can't say anything on record wear either cause i havent had them long enough....

Ps havent owned a stanton cart yet but have played on them and i still prefer the above 3. The pro scratch is my needle of choice.

ortofon scratch is what I play on all the time since I found them. totally a badass needle. I have them mounted on black concorde's, so it's black and red, looks as nice as they sound.

shure needles are badass too. they are the only needle besides ortofon's i'd pay for at the moment. I have a set of 44-7's, and 44-G's, and I love both!

Havn't tried the whitelabel yet... I've heard the stylii is very similiar to the 44-G's... which makes sense, as the 44-G's are an amazing little cartridge. They track so light, recommended .75 - 1.5g, and sound good doing it. I keep the 44G on my third deck, which I use mainly for playback... when im just sitting around listening to records and not mixing, i throw them on the ole 3rd deck so they dont get worn much... who needs a scratch cartridge to just glide the groove

I really dont notice much sound difference between the 44G and the ortofon scratch. The scratch does have a higher output, though... and sounds a little crisper on the highhats, but that's very hard to hear on the speakers... somewhat noticable in the phones, but its fairly minor.

Alghough that thing looks sweet, I get the feeling that thing is more geared towards audiophiles, what kind of nutzo DJ would be willing to spend $7,000 to get a pair of TONEARMS? I'd bet that 99/100 people wouldn't be able to tell the sound difference between that thing and a standard DJ tonearm.

Heh, craziness, you could buy a used car for the price of 2 of those arms.

After reading many forum threads and reviews, and not really knowing any better, i decided to get the Shure's. Cheapest place i found them was here. Under $100 though, so not too bad i think.

I just bought a pair of Whitelabels after using the M44-7 (My first pair) and noticed that the M44-7s are much louder (particularly in bass) than the Whitelabels. The sound quality in the white labels is better, though, at the same relative volume. I'm no audiophile but this is what I noticed.

can you use the whitelabels on straight arms? it doesnt seem like it.. if you cant (or can, doesnt matter), what is the best setup (carts/needles/styli) or whatever for straight arm turntables?

I think these Whitelabels are gonna be my next carts

At the moment I've got Ortofon OM Pro Silvers, had them for over one and a half years and no complaints, but they're nothing special
