Yeah I do that as well. Reverse the service charge bit. The only thing I HATE is when ppl at the branch or wherever don't tell the client how an accoutn they get REALLY works then they assume it works a certain way and get fucked up the ass with service charges. I mean c'mon it's common sense to tell the person this is what you get with this account.

not always true .. i've hung up on unreasonable people before and I kinda like dealing with some of these assholes once in a while since no matter how much they bitch we are still the be all and end all ..

but those holds are such B.S., I'm getting ready to close my account with TD. I understand the concept (people do scam), but when I've been banking there over a year, have good credit on my cards and have never been overdrawn or NSF, and they still insist on holding cheques as small as $150 for 5 days when the cheque actually cleared after 2 days, it really pisses me off.
They abuse their contract by taking out interest-free loans on bankers' money. Cheap pricks. (Not you, the TD policy-makers. )
so ya like that little hold condition i threw onto ur account eh ?? hehehe ..

It wouldn't even have bothered me if I hadn't opened the account under the condition that the hold would be removed after a few months...
And even then, I could deal with it up to the point where a hold caused one of my cheques to go NSF without me even knowing until 3 weeks later. After all, why would I assume that they still hold small cheques after 15 months...

it's not NSF if there's a hold.. it gets sent back as "funds not available". that's why you don't end up with a $20 presentment charge when there's a bounced cheque due to a hold. too bad the payee might slam a charge on you tho ..
oh and btw. NSF fees go up to $30 in June .. enjoy ..

Yeah that's exactly what happened, I didn't get an NSF charge from the bank, but it was a rent cheque and he got charged $25 for it, so I had no choice but to pay the extra (it wasn't his fault).
Wanna take the hold off for me Em?

I work for a credit Card Company, yes we do track all activity on your card, I can say regardless if you do your purchases online or at the store, i can rest assure you fraud will remain the same. There is nothing secure out there.
They track your activity, they monitor high area Fraud ZIP & Postal codes, in such cases even if you do not recive your replacement cards or renewals, sometimes we even stop charges knowing you even hold the card. Called for a refferal at the point of sale.
They have people actually sitting and making descisions when you swipe your card.
its not possible to copy card numbers and make charges with expiry dates, because there is a security code on the card itself. which the four or three digit on the back of the card.
these features act as more of security features. if you even make small charges and the card lets it go through the Cardholder may call or check his bill and say these are fraud charges, we have it removed for them.

It can be very difficult to verify whether it was the account holder who actually authorized this transaction...
if you hacked, why waste time in measly personal accounts? theres a big if tho...not that easy bud...heh bud hehe
