What are the released mixes of Metropolis, and which one should I listen to to change my opinion??

good to see you still have an open mind about his work :-)

for starters, the track 'Metropolis' is known as 'METRO'.
only for the UK release it was changed. still dont know WHY :-)

so if you split the name 'Metropolis' you get two tracks,
Metro
and
Polis

METRO is the track you know as Metropolis and then theres
POLIS a hard dark trancer with a riff to die for (check it out)

and this is how Oliver orginally released 'METRO' track OR 'Metropolis' as you know it.
sorry for the histroy lesson. on to the track.

to change your mind about this track check out Oliver's OWN remix
called ' METRO (US MIX) '. and while your there check out the B-side for 'POLIS'.

and stay clear of the Metropolis remixes by
Darrren Christian
Durango95
Midtone
Eric Prydz

all these remixes dont come close to the masters original :-)

It was the Duty Free release of Metropolis that I have heard - and to be honest the mixes are pretty ordinary. The Polis track sounds good - I will have to check it out and have a listen BTW what label was it released on??
Thx

As you can see I love alot of his L.S.G. stuff. I haven't heard alot of his other stuff released under different aliases. Can you guys recommend some of his stuff that would be somewhat similar to his L.S.G. stuff? Stuff thats somewhat dark yet has a beautiful melody to it or just some trippy moody chill sounds? I don't like his harder/faster clubbier sounding stuff at all so that's part of why I haven't bothered checking out alot of his other aliases.

@ Cyberwoo

the LSG list you mentioned, is that all you have ?
cause if so, your missing other brilliant 'darker' LSG stuff.

but will mention them anyway - for other people 2 check out :-)

LSG - Blueprint V1 and V2 in my opinion
LSG - 88 (black series EP version)
LSG - Infectious #2
LSG - Black Currant (tony thomas remix) very drak stomper
LSG - Firefly (awesome progressive dark tech trancer)
LSG - Novastorm
and theres others too. :-)
but non-LSG work but same style

Spicelab - Oscillator
Spcielab - Triple Zero
Paragliders - Oasis (sheik mix)
Asymmetric (phools inc remixes)
IVAN - Red Star (pad mix)
IVAN - Gorki (version 2)
Ambush - Everlast (club mix)

theres alot bloody more, but its more 'acid' harder style and
you wanted more melody :-) enjoy

oh crap, oops.
sorry to take up the space but
forgot to mention this track, for me
its ALL of oliver lieb compressed into a 18mintue
long track.
dark,ambient,electro,tech,trance,hard trance,acid
its ALL there.

called 'FALLING' by Spicelab
from 1995 but still in 2003 nothing comes close, not even in fifth place :-)
