Wow...what a night folks, I am not sure what it sounded like on the radio...but here is what it was like at Space 34. Tiesto was such a nice guy. He hung out with Markus for the last 30 minutes of Markus's set, enjoying himself and just meeting people. The booth was pretty crazy. Tiesto had told me he just flew in from Ibiza that day (I think that is waht he said.....it was SO LOUD I could hardy hear). He had just played a 2 hour set outdoors on a humid night, and from what Markus told me, when he was on stage, with all of the lights...it was too hot! So I can imagine poor Tiesto, how hot he must have been at the 93.1 concert. Anyways...back to Space.....Tiesto went on and played prog trance for the first 45 minutes and the crowd was enjoying himself as Tiesto built the energy up. He then started bangin it out as the crowd went wild. about 2 hours or so into his set, Tiesto started talking to the guys that travel with him. It was very obvious what was going on, Tiesto was EXHAUSTED, he had given the people of Miami his all, and had finally hit the wall. Tiesto asked Markus if he would play after him, and after conversations around the booth, everyone agreed Markus went back on. Tiesto is a true professional, and I have alot of respect for him. I couldnt imagine the day he must have had with all the travel and hot outdoors. Oh and by the way....way to go Markus! What a set...next stop.....Armin Van Buuren and Markus Schulz @ Opium Gardens!!! |
Markus made Tiesto look like an amateur during the Space34 broadcast. There must've been something obvious wrong with Tijs, as some of the records he chose were completely out of place, or just awful (The Mark Lowndes was just horrid).
You should be proud of Markus, that was a great set. I hope he gets out around the states and performs more, in my mind he is the top DJ in the United States now.
