and i am not saying they should deny entrance to you if you dont follow their rules but they reserve the right to take your glowsticks away if you have them when they arent allowed.

Woohoo to no smoking in bars. If others should have the freedom to blow noxious/poisonous fumes in my face then I should have the freedom to beat them with a baseball bat. Or open specific bars and places to smoke ... just keep it out of public domain.

don't pretend you don't know that bars and smoking go hand-in-hand, bars are all about drinking, socializing, and smoking. It's always been this way historically and always will be. If you told me there should be "non-smoking bars" for people like yourself I could agree with you, because obviously non-smoking bar attendees are in the minority. But 99% of people who go to bars either fully expect a "smoky" atmosphere or smoke themselves.

Well I agree that bars are a little extreme. However, I'm all about no smoking in public places. Would you change your opinion however if the majority of bar goers did not smoke and would want smokeless atmospheres?

cali pulled off the no smoking thing sucessfully. i kinda like it in new york. i mean it is ironic that i have unquite smoking sionce the ban went into effect, but it is good. cause you dont come home reeking and it has actually craeted these little social areas where you can actually hear what ppl are saying then you go back inside. winter is going to suck though. i think i'll have to quit again.
