I know a little bit history of hardstyle,but my english isn't good,so i hope u can unstand i say...

At late 90s' when german hard trance popular around the world,(especially "Tracid traxx " lable lead from Kai tarcid") combine with a slow Techno from Italy, that's the early harstyle come from(djsj Vortex, Technoboy, supermarco may..etc) However, the hardstyle combine with more hardcore sound from holland ,and that's new hardstyle...

(ps: there r still many Italy techno djs dun adimit hardstyle music i,and they think hardstyle is still kinda Techno,so that's why great hardstyle dj " technoboy " not "hardstyleboy )

I was at Sensation Black, but...naah...a bit disapointet with the music...Rodriguez, De Heij, Ishino and Tracid were all great, but Luna, Dana and specially Nightraver...that was to much for me...I like some hardstyle (Tracid, Hennes & Cold, DJ Isaac etc) but not when it gets to hardcore influenced...

but...different people has different tastes...

Last year Tiesto was number 1 DJ in the world but in The Netherlands he was second right behind DANA!!

It was:
1 Dana 35% of the votes
2 Tiesto 28% of the votes

the thing you need to understand is, tiesto was rated number one in the world, pretty much because of the fact he was a big name at the time, as im sure 99.9% of ppl on this board have seen the absolute outrage because of him being picked number 1, because they dont fewel he is good enough, but to a lesser educated crowd i.e. the radio market as opposed to the club market, the likes of tiesto that is putting out a lot, will seem like a great pioneer of the sound, this is exactly the same with Dana, she is a very accessable name in hardstyle, with not too rough a cut to be appreciated by more ppl than lets say DHHD which induce rougher sounds hard basslines and kicks, which renders theyre style as slightly more underground and less enjoyable to most people.

as with technoboy, i feel his career on the hardstyle circuit went great, but going on how you like your hardstyle your opinions will vary. I for example, hate the italian cheesey crap hardstyle which the likes technoboy produce, along with all the 'wobbley hardstyle' that emerges from italy.

as i have said many times before, hardstyle is a sort of commercialised version of gabba/nu-skool gabba, which emerged from the bowels of hollands underground where it lived for many many years, but the italians took this added theyre own herbs and flavourings, and came up with theyre rendition of hardstyle, slightly after this birth, came the dutch's variation of hardstyle.. keeping true to the gabba style, industrious sounds and tweeks along with your standard hars kicks on a slower scale than before = dutch hardstyle.

in response to ghost face. hardstyle has no ties with hard trance or hard house. although the latest hardstyle offering have a twang of the hard trance vibe, this is not a spawn of hard trance, this is purely a driving feature added to the genre of recent times, trance was not the influence of hardstyle in wany wayshape or form, same goes for hard house. hard house is a fun form of music that mostly contains an element of funk, which hardstyle does not contain. although in holland, hardstyle is sumtimes referred to as hardhouse, but i am completly against this, as there is no justification for it.
also fairly new to the market, is techno-hardtsyle, which basically is exactly what it says on the tin, hardstyle with techno influences, all the mental loops and sounds from techno with a hardstyle twist, examples of this are tracks by DHHD, keeping it rough raw and anti cheese

i hope this settled a few things, cos my fucking wrists hurt now : lol

Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

In some parts I agree with you on the hardstyle thing, but I dont agree that most of the stuff that comes out of Italy is utter cheese, sure there is always an amount but there is some real quality being produced in Italy at the moment, I have to mention Smashing Guys again, Gerardo Roschini really is a superb producer in the genre, and I also agree that Lady Dana rules, such a lovely woman, she is beautiful in an average looking sort of way, I dunno how to word it, she seems to be one of those women that may not look like Heidi Klum beautiful but is still very nice, argh dunno if you know what I mean, but she is very down to earth too, imho she deserves 100% to beat Tiesto the the #1 DJ vote in Holland, its a shame the UK vote is such bullshit.....I really hope Armin knocks Tiesto off his perch, I like Tiesto's productions but he just comes across as a bit of an arsehole, also he slagged off gabber before, so he's in my bad books, but Armin has time for everyone and he appreciates people too, more than Tiesto does I think.

In terms of hardstyle recommendations I have a fair few, if you look at the "latest vinyls" thread I bought over 60 vinyls, 50+ of which were hardstyle, I am really getting into this genre a lot more now.

Haha hardtsyle is probably the most mainstream music out there

I didn't know we had some many no dutch 'BeuQers' in this forum Its a shame really, I seriously hope Hardstyle will never make it to Uk/gatecrasher, since it has kinda wrecked the scene here
