For those of you who didn't know Ian van Dahl is gonna work with some new producers on the new album and the Lasgo team is one of them.

Hi. I actually like Lasgo. It's not what i listen to daily, it's more the pop part of my music life. I was a huge fan of them before, but there's so much other music to listen to aswell (so called non-cheese)

Peter Luts (1/2 of Lasgo) has actually worked with Christophe Chantzis (1/2 of Ian Van Dahl) before. This was the dance project Astroline. Maybe you know all this.

But my point was to support you. Looks like everybody hates Lasgo etc because it's "cheese" (huh) So ridiculous.
What do you think about Lasgo's 3 newest productions? Wonder, You and Searching...

Can't wait to hear Surrender =)

I liked the track "I Wonder". Haven't heard the other two, although last years "Pray" was very weak.

Regarding Peter Luts, Astroline - Close My Eyes (Peter Luts Remix) is one of my favourite "commercial" dance tracks.

Here's my bet..

Im sure everyone here discovered trance from a way or another, like from cheese, or whatever else (i remember someone mentionned armin/tiesto as his/her first artists..?).

I guess people start with cheese (most of the time), and then move on a bit more deep into trance.

Thats how I discovered trance. And then of course moved to something else less cheese.

So let them like 'cheese' so then can move to 'ice cream' afterwards (lame joke, nevermind. You got my point.)

By the way, I liked Alphazone's remix of Try (Ian Van Dahl)

God, im tired. If someone notice that my sentence didnt make sense here, let me know

Yeah, that Alphazone remix owns!

But got your point. But i'm not so sure about if everybody starts out with cheese. And it also depends on what you call cheese.
The first electronic music i listened to was Robert Miles - Dreamland. (great album)
Then the years went by, didn't really listen to electronic music.
Suddenly i heard Magik Six. Heh, that's only 3 years ago right ?
Well time goes fast...

The Michael Woods Remix of "Try" is the only version I like, and it's really good in my opinion.

Regarding, starting out with "cheese", I'm sure it is a common occurence for many people as most "cheesy" stuff is very chart friendly, and it catches the attention of mainstream listeners who then research further into what genre this is, and therefore get more and more into it. Although not in my case. Without sounding big headed I think it's a safe enough bet to say I've been into electronic music for longer than at least 70% of the people here. I've been listening since 1993 and fully developed my tastes with the mid 90's UK Trance/Progressive house in 1995. I've ended up listening to virtually all styles of electronic music, and that includes everything from Progressive House to commercial "Vocal Cheese". I don't like to draw lines between what I'll listen to and what I won't, I like to keep an open mind and listen to what my ears actually like, rather than worrying about what other people think of me. Check my vinyl collection in my sig to see what my preffered style of music is.

Also, what some people need to learn is the difference between a negative opinion and personal attack. Negative pinions are generally acceptable, and in general should make everything more interesting. However, personal attacks are not acceptable and will turn a thread down a completely wrong thread.

Examples:

Personal Attack:
"wtf? go post this fuckin shit somewhere else you little ******. how the fuck can you like this shit?"

or:

"you dont like Armin??? you don't fuckin like trance you little noob. do urself a favor and go fuck yourself"

That is aimed at the opposing side in person and is attacking somebody for having different tastes. How anybody that's over a single figure age would ever do this is completely beyond me, but I see it all too often.

Negative opinion:
"This track is bland and unoriginal."

That's just stating the point of view from one person and is exactly the thing that forums are for. It's not aimed at provoking anyone, it's not showing any hate towards other person, in no way is it stating that it's a fact, therefore there's nothig wrong with that.

Although it's a waste of time saying that, because no matter how many times that, or something similar is said, it will still happen.
