Saturday Sept 27 has finally arrived. Tonight is the night of
Starscape, and it's looking incredibly good.
We've been working for 3 days setting up the event, doing what may
perhaps be the best setup yet.
The question a lot of people seem to be asking is, "what are you
doing about the chance of rain"?
So here's what we've done:
In addition to the 15,000 sq ft Ultraworld tent, there is now the
10,000 sq ft Buzz tent, and the Art tent. This is over 28,000 sq ft of tent space. Baltimore City Fire code allows 3 sq ft per person in a standing situation. Let's bump that up to 5 sq ft per person. By that calculation we have tenting and shelter for over 5,000 people!!! Considering that is the expected attendance, pretty much everyone could find their way under cover if we were to get a shower.
This is not mention the fact that the area is wooded, and there
will be vendors with tents as well.
So really, the question is more, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THE
CHANCE OF RAIN?
Are you not going to come to the once in a year event, based on a
"chance" of rain? Or are you going to do the following:
1) Not worry about it, it's just a "chance" of rain, and it's only
water anyway.
2) Stop at Walmart, a sporting good store or somewhere else and
buy yourself a $2.50 poncho.
3) Bring a cheap umbrella, and if you don't need it just throw it
in a trash can.
4) Come to Starscape in a bathing suit.
Either way, the point is, so what, there might be some rain. :-)
That's not going to stop the fun, and as we've explained, we have plenty of shelter for everyone. If you buy a poncho, have fun with it. Get some paint, decorate it. If you're a drum n bass head, buy a camo poncho. Figure something out.
As for tickets, we are absolutely 100% guaranteed to be selling tickets at the gate, for $40 with no service charge. Go to www.starscapebaltimore.com for directions and all other information.
See you tonight
