liquified, if you're still reading this thread, why did you feel the need to justify yourself so much to somebody you don't even know? :P
|
I wasn't commenting about anything personal about you so it doesn't matter if i know you or not. The only thing i said that was remotely directed towards you was the comment about only liking one genre and i thought that was closed minded but that was a genral statement and not directed towards any one individual. I never said one deragotory statement about you in the thread so like i said it doesn't matter if i knew you or not. What i did feel that needed addressing was the broad accusations that you were making about Liquified without real facts to back it up, and i have those real facts which you obviously did not. So i thought it needed addressing.
I'm done with that conversation though, but i am very up for the conversation about music and only listening to one genre if you are still up for some musical conversation.

devin you're full of crap. I tried to make nice but there's absolutely nothing wrong with preferring one genre of electronic over another so there's no discussion there. We all have our preference. |
I was done with it, you asked a question and i answered you. If you really thought it was over like you said you would of taken my words as it being over. Because it was.
I thought you might possibly want to have an intelligent conversation about music and your opinions on genre specific listening. I was not trying to start any flame war or anything, i was looking for a decent musical debate on a subject that we both belived in but we were on opposite sides of the fence on. I guess thats not possible, so oh well.

I don't even know how this got started or where this discussion is going anymore, but I know it had to do with me saying that liquified hasn't brought any decent trance shows to Atlanta in the past few years (except Tiesto) and the fact that now that there finally are going to be some, they're on weekdays.
just for the record devin, at NO time did I ever mention anything about wanting you to be a genre specific company... I'm not stupid. No production company anywhere could survive especially as long as liquified has if they only did 1 genre.. some other guy brought that up.
all I did was mention that for the past few years, Liquified hasn't brought any good trance it's been all OTHER genres except trance... and a big ol' THANK YOU FOR PROVING MY POINT by posting that list... not ONE single trance DJ. even on your upcoming list which should include Scott Bond, Armin van Buuren, and Ferry Corsten.
but at least we're all in agreement now
my apologies if you misunderstood, I wasn't looking for a musical debate. I know what music I like and I'm completely happy with it. Guess we were totally both on different pages. no big deal. all I would like would be some decent trance shows, in Atlanta, and on a WEEKEND for a change, which apparently Liquified isn't interested in even though it would have been nice for us fans that have normal corporate jobs. Not every raver is a candykid with nothing but time on weekdays.

get adam freeland in there!!!!!!!! |
Actually there are other breakbeat djs, Hybrid (dj set) play breaks and we also had jonathan lisle hear and he plays breaks but i forgot him from that list. Steve Gerrard was supposed to play for us recently but the venue was double booked so we had to back out. We had Uberzone right around my original time frame of 12-20 months as well.
Adam freeland was just here for our friends at the crescent room, suprisingly the turnout was low. Adam freeland is bad ass and Liquified was actually the first one to bring him to Atlanta a few years ago.
| quote: | yes i know what you are thinking..he dissed icey...rofl
yes i did..icey is not breaks...and sadly neither are florida breaks then again...that's a diff argument. |
Nah, i don't mind if you dissed icey, there are a lot of icey lovers and there are a lot of icey haters. Thats just the way it goes i guess. Icey has done a lot for the US scene in terms of breaks though and he's playing a lot of nu school these days. But thats just a matter of opinion.
| quote: | | I was only trying to shut my friends up.....but that won't happen. I'll go back n hide in my toronto forum....where we get all types of deejays....not dissing any cities btw... |
Oh atlanta gets a ton of diverse talent, that list was just who i have brought recently, not the city as a whole. I mean the amount of talent that comes through atlanta is huge, every week is packed with a variety of talent.
