Fatboy's post just about sums it up for me.
There are loads of pro producers out there that use progs like Fruity & reason.
Look at Haak, he uses reason & his track is currently one of the biggest around. there are plenty of Floops users out there as well, Flutlict, cosmicman ect.
It's all about how you use the programme.
Look at me I still use only version 1.01 of reason while everyone else is on version 2.5 lol

lol, it's taken me about a week to get around to downloading this track - dunno why i kept missing it as i love Damaged

anyway - i finally downloaded it last night, and i listened to it about 4 times already - it's brilliant, the way you've used the vocal at half speed in the break is very clever, and once you get used to the way you've phrased the main vocal line it starts to sound even better than the antillas remix

the only downside to the stretched vocal though, it seems maybe it was stretched just a wee bit more than it could handle, there is a bit of digital distortion in it, nothing really annoying, but i've noticed it's there now, and i hear it everytime. But unless you have a lot of expensive hardware that sort of time-stretching will throw up a problem or two.

However, i love this, and will be playing it for a while at least

pity you couldn't enter it to the comp.

as time goes by...wow, I am really deeply impressed by the stuff I can download on this forum right now. Again a tune with superb technical production quality and some really cool synths ( I think I need to destroy some of the trancevision sounds with the scream )

really inspiring

8 /10

Yep, I'm still producing Like arctic said, I did a remix of Damaged for the current remix contest that should be available as soon as the judging finishes. Other than that I have lots of stuff to finish scattered around on my computer

Peace

jmf: thanks for the detailed comments . hehe, the vocal during the break was a lot easier to phrase than the main vocal because as you have cleverly noticed the vocal during the break is almost the same as slowing down the original to half speed, but not quite. I still had to phrase a lot of it, but some sections could just be time stretched 200 % and they fit (it still took a lot of edits though). About the distortion.. hehe there is some there, and i tried to cover it up as best i could, but i was timestretching a lot of things to 200% and there were many times i even timestretched things 2 or 3 times over to get it to the length i needed. Im afraid it did affect the quality of the vocals, but hey, one day i will have something other than cubase to handle my timestretching needs .

Trancevision: Thank you for the comments. Didn't you make the song on this forum a while back that has the vocoded vocal that says 'you can't stop evolution' (i like that tune). Hehe yeah, destroying some of your sounds could be interesting ill keep an eye out for anything new you come up with.

thanks again guys.

Got it now

WIcdked track, the slowed down vocal is a great idea. The percs are nice and spacey, well done. The whole track has a spacey/atmospheric feel to it, i really like what you've done with it. My only little gripe is the lack of some energy/drive/a prominent lead, but other than that, there's no faulting it

Amazing work, well done
