Thanks! You've been really helpful. I gotta get myself to a shop and mess with one...

Still leaning towards the Pio DJM 3000 though (matches my CMX3000)... but I dont have to wait if I decide to get the DJX. Ugh, decisions.

yes i might just get this mixer. i have techs, the pioneer hdj1000s, and ortofon pro dj s concordes. so i feel like with my crappy mixer i have now, it's like,....i dunno, like i'm eating mcdonalds hamburgers off of $500 gold china or something.

Why are you hooking up Techs to a mixer like that? I'm not saying that its a bad mixer, but it sounds to me like a Ferrari with a VW Beetle engine. I also checked a few sites, and it might be annoying that the crossfader is fixed on 2 channels (although i don't use the crossfader, my Dateq mixer doesn't even has a crossfader). But if you want to use the effects then it might be better to check some other mixers out.

well the mixer i have right now is just horrible. anything would be better. the behringer djx 700 is only 200 bucks, which is the maximum i can afford. i'm a poor ass college student and i've gotta buy a car soon.
maybe it was stupid of me to get $200 needles before i buy a new mixer, but at least when i spin out there is always a good mixer...

plus i don't have cd dex, i only need 2 channels. (although the behringer has 3 phono ins and one line in, i think)

but if you'd like to donate a djm 600 to me,feel free! hehe!

I think it's always smart to look ahead. Maybe, someday you'll get CD dex, and if you have to switch phono/line all the time, you'll be sorry you didn't buy a 4 channel mixer(or 5 in the case of the DJX700). AND, it's a good mixer for a VERY GOOD price. So, I'd say, get that djx700!

Needles, they've always atracted me too . I'm trying not to spend too much money on vinyls and getting whitelabels or concords for both my TT's soon.

No problem Twilo, best thing to do is go out and try it out, and maybe some others aswell, but people really shouldn't get this mixer if they want effects, altho it has some, you can do better, but everything else is kickass, and I love the layout, its what I'm used to, and remember, no matter what mixer you buy some people will love it, and some people will hate it, pretty much goes for everything, except Tech 12s, everybody loves Tech 12s.

so is the sound quality good? i mean the mixer i have right now is a piece of shit. when you crank up the bass, well there still isn't much bass......and everyone NEEDS bass!!! but i am comparing this to my friends djm-500 so yea, my question basically is how is the gains? like when you turn up it up does it actually make quite a difference or is it like a half erect penis? also how clear are the highs mids lows? i dont know all the technical words for everything so feel free to tell me if i don't make sense.

well, I think, if you attach the djx700 to a 3000W amplifier, the sound quality won't be 100% clear. But, for home use (like, not more than 700W, witch is ALOT), the mixer will do just fine.

ease of use?

some of the best mixers are known for their ease of use... how easy is the interface to use? i currently have a base model behringer and i love the fact that it is very easy to use. i know it doesn't do much in the line of the eq, but the sound is great, and the gains are sweet too. I know it's only a 2 ch mixer, but i only have 2 tables right now, and am looking to upgrade..

i had a quick question for all you guys... what program do you guys use to record all your sets? im also a poor poor college student, don't have much money to build a studio or anything like that, but i have it plugged into my computer and i recorded my first set using sonic foundry sound forge 6.0 and i didn't like the recording, maybe a new sound card would do the trick, but i'm not sure. any help would be greatly appreciated...

thanx
