I think there's a difference between beating someone up who is your own age or maybe middle age, and someone who is elderly. They can't defend themselves. It's like beating up a small child or baby, which I HOPE you would never think of doing.

Get your mother to kick him out of the house. Second of all, go to the police station and file a restraining order...yes..they are just paper but he can be arrested if he comes back on the property.
