Supposed to creep along the side of the Eastern US... Final mapped location for the eye of the hurricane is Maryland (Washington D.C. to be exact). Course might change, though.

Good God... This is starting to look bad.

The outskirts of the hurricane are supposed to generate 70mph winds!

It will only be a rain storm by the time it hits toronto.

The good news is that it's weaker now, but still a strong storm and hitting an area that's not used to hurricanes.

The inbred? Hehe ... nah I doubt lives would be lost. Only property which is going to suck. It should be downgraded to a force 3 storm by the time it hits. By then only the stupid are not going to take precautions.

Hmmm, it appears to be moving pretty damn slow. Hopefully it will partially dissipate by the time it reaches the mainland.

I've always been slightly interested in weather/meteorology. That sounds about right, as I heard that hurricane-force winds (that's at LEAST 119 km/h) can be felt 240 km away from the actual hurricane. I'm in Philly, and I know that so many of us just aren't prepared for a Category 4/5 hurricane at all. Has Philadelphia PA & general vicinity ever has a hurricane THIS powerful? It's currently at Category 3 but, it's still powerful. It may intensify again too. There seems to be someone here who's majoring (?) in meteorology. Can you explain? I thought that as a hurricane travels across land, it's speed/power just FAST. Does it really? If not, and it's a Category 4 or 5 by the time it fully makes it to land, we're doomed...
