Andain - Beautiful Things (Josh Gabriel Tech Mix) owns all other remixes because the tune is soo catchy.

heh, it's kinda funny. I was coming home from a long day of work tonight, feeling a bit down. Then I look outside the window at the setting sun piercing through the grey clouds and think "wow beautiful". At that moment Andain - Beautiful Things pops into my head. Suddenly my mood changes for the better .

To me the meaning is to take the time from your ordinary routine to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Whether it would be to pause just for a second to smell a flower, or enjoy a sunset etc.

This is the beautiful thing about this track, it means so many different things to different people, as all great art does .

yeah...suicide...just on different lvls depending on the listener. could be anywhere from suicide of a fun life and falling into a pattern of work, eat, sleep...all the way up to literal suicide. u pick your meaning.

I believe this song is about her regrtting something she has done, not moved on from and her believing her only option is suicide.

"Got up early, found something's missing
My only name.
No one else sees but I got stuck,
And soon forever came."

That imo is about her losing her identity, she's been waiting to get oevr her regret but she never has.


"What's done is done, this life has got it's hold on me.
Just let it go, what now can never be."

Her regret is strangling her life away from her but she knows she can do noting to change it, she has to let go of the regret.


"I forgot that I might see,
So many beautful things.
I forgot that i might need,
To find out what life could bring."

She's been narrow minded with her regret that she forgot that life could be beautiful and different from what she is experiencing now.


"Take this happy ending away, it's all the same."

She can't see her life getting any better though no matter what.

Can I change my mind?
Did I think things through?

It was once my life
It was my life at one time."

This last part of the vocals seems to imply she's about to take her own life imo. Can I change my mind about suicide? Did I plan everything for it properly? The last two lines strengthen my point. It was her life, it used to be her life hence it isn't anymore, there is no point her living as whatever happened has taken her will to live away and left her wanting only peace and escape from the regret which destroyed her life.

This is a brilliant piece of vocal work & brilliant lyrics, they're so deep and meaningful it makes such a change to hear somthing dealing with such strong negative feelings instead of your usual everyone is always hppy, the world is great shite you hear all the time.

This song gives me such a positive feeling and I couldn't connect it to suicide before reading the lyrics and others comments. As said, it can have multiple meanings and what does this song means to me is not suicide, more like finding the joy of living again.

I don't agree about suicide. I do think (as others have said) Regret about her past. I think those last 2 lines has to do with a "death" of her past life and she has since moved on ready to enjoy the beautiful things life has to offer.

simply states that is the way she used to be.

Well whatever the true meaning is behind the lyrics it is a kick ass song, that much I think can be agreed on .
