I still can't see a club open until noon with a dress code NOT serving alcohol... what kind of crowd is this going to attract then? Stylish gino crowd that likes to party until noon the next day? Ya right...

If they throw one party and then kick it up with Sander K, I think they're on the map..
And why is stylish dresscode a problem? I'm not saying a suit and a tie, that would be boring.. and certainly a minimal amount of people wearing suits & ties stay out til noon (excluding those visiting Brass Rail).. but some stylish warderobe, jeans allowed maybe, would at least separate it from the Zone and the crowd that frequents it.
It is possible. Moscow clubs are very stylish & dressy, and the crowd is easygoing and they party.

I'm all for dress codes (minus suit), except I hate it when the clubs don't allow runners. I certainly have nicer shoes, but I can't dance in them. Isn't this problem 10 times worse for women with the high heels and shit?

This place is merely another Comfort Zone, or Metropolis, or Film...

Places I like, but we have more than enough of.

I'm curious as to why you guys think the dress code is such a "great thing". I certainly dress well, and it sounds like they'd give me a hard time for my baggy pants and sketchers.

Using Film Lounge as the popular comparison, the atmosphere is anal retentive, the music terribly down-beat, and the drug abuse worse than most clubs since it's where the G-Monkeys congregate (I've seen crack being done @ Film) This place is only going to attract a select group of partiers, which already seem to be well covered.

Musically I don't know who localy they are getting, but again using film as and example, you Dekoze and Addy fans would cry @ the terribly pedestrian sets they lay down @ Film... since it is a lounge where the pretty and financialy privelaged get exceptionally fucked up.

Overall I wish the best, but already blocking out a good portion of the hardcore scene with the dress-code doesn't quite seem like decent business sense, and I as a punter am thankfull for the advance warning to avoid the dump.

while I'd agree that this has the potential to become another CoZo or Film, I'd like to hope that that's not the intention. There has been a need for a Toronto equivalent of a Stereo/Aria/Sona(rip) for a long time (really ever since Industry closed); it's a crowd that loves to party until well into the next day, but would never be caught dead in a place like the Zone. There's actually quite a difference in the demographics of these groups....I'm not yet convinced that that's actually what this new place will be going for, but I'd like to hope it is.

Not really. Many of us have life in heels down to a fine art - you men need to get your shit together. Women have no sympathy for your dress code whining! Your shoes are FLAT! How difficult can it be?!

FYI, most of the Industry crowd were Comfort Zone/Exit/Spin Cat/Space regulars as well. And the ppl that made Industry severely shite (this is a personal memory from an Ascension@Industry) were the models and suits that just stood there, drink in hand, wondering what the fuck this beeping music is... they seriously looked like one of the window displays from the Bay.

Not to mention this place is opening after or around 2am, so just as the headliner @ the other clubs is hitting their stride, they expect a flock of ppl?? Uhh-huh....

Aside from the thugs there, the people you described here make up the majority of the Comfort Zone crowd.. it's funny people piss on the zone, but it's not the clothes that make the dirty partier, it's the volume of drug consumption, which knows no fashion boundaries, and those that can afford the 2 or 3 nights straight are those with the $$$ and the nicer clothes. Take a look @ the Zone lineup between 7am and 10 am on a Sat or Sun morning, looks like a fashion show @ times, except you are watching last night's model and perdy ppl come down in a bad, gray skinned way lol
