someone didn't say it yet and this guy looks pretty lost so there it goes: if you want anything good to come out from FL/any sequencing program you'll need to use effects (FX's). these, unlike instruments, modify the sound instead of creating it. the most typical FX's are flangers/phasers/choruses, reverb, delay and equalizers. by experimenting with this stuff you'll see you can learn a lot. but there's some rules to using it, not strict rules, but some stuff that people always use. for example, in the percussion you should try a bit of delay and reverb, while in the bassline you shouldn't put much reverb or any at all, but a lot of delay. again, search the forums a bit cause there's a lot about this.

other thing that will improve your sounds a lot is knowing how to use envelopes. they're built in inside of the instruments. try opening up some random sample, open the channel settings window, click on INS, then VOL, activate the envelope at the top and mess around with it.

and yet another thing i remembered, filters are very important. they are kinda like EQ'ing. low-pass filters will only let the low frequencies pass through, while high-pass will do the opposite. band-pass let the frequencies going though only in a specific band. in that same window you used for the envelopes, there's a very simple filter below. you can choose between different types of filters (LP - low pass, HP - high pass and so on), the cuttof setting (CUT) is for the frequency you want it to be cut, the ressonance (RES) i don't know really to explain it well without the help of a spectrum analyzer, just try it and you'll listen what it does.

this is just the basic of the basics and ends up my tutorial from a noob to a noob so, yeah, producing is really hard. you're gonna need to pratice A LOT and learn a lot by yourself if you wanna go anywhere in the music world.

as for that 'kind of noise', it's probably some percussion sample, like an hi-hat or something, or maybe try reversing an hi-hat sample and adding delay. just trying to guess, there a lot of stuff that can be described by a 'kind of noise'

Well, actually it isn't. But if you sample very short bits, like a bassdrum, snare or hihat, no-one will know which track you took it from.
The problem comes when you begin sampling different things, like vocals and effects.
But sampling occurs very often in the music industry, it's part of the creative process IMO...
