i got my whitelabels relatively cheap because im a very regular customer in that store.

Tell them that you will be buying the two together (phones and two carts), they will take maybe 20-30 dollars off the price, and dont accept their first offer. Dj Equipment is not in high demand so you can usually get them to move on the price. If they dont walk out and buy them somewhere else.

One Stop - SHURE WHITELABELS = $480 <-- thats rediculous, tell them you want at least 100 dollars off the price. At $380 they would still be making a big enough profit that they would still sell them to you. I think.

One Stop - SHURE WHITELABELS = $480

CSR - PIONEER HDJ1000 = Not in stock
One Stop - PIONEER HDJ1000 = $269

are they decent prices or can cheaper be found?

One Stop are doing a sale on this week too.

btw i forgot to ask, are the HDJ1000 good in blocking external sounds?

EDIT: Just by looking at Robs, Andrews and escees prices, i think something is wrong lol...did they increase their prices, damn.

Hehehe, it depends on who's working @ the stores, cause the staff are on a rotating roster, some staff are willing to bargin, some are not.

Not only did I get the Shure's for $340, but a friend got he's for the same price 1 month after i got mine - from CSR.
The guy also offered me $220 for the HDJ1000s.
You'll have to go into the shop and ask - theres not much hope in terms of bargining when you ring up over the phone.

Yeah, One Stop have been selling them for $480 ever since they were released - they are tough cookies, best price you'd get from them is $420 IMO. I got my HDJ1000's there for $250, and the guy even gave me $1 of my Mike Shiver - Feelings vinyl!

But yeah mate, best to go into the shop and talk face to face!

Also agree with JayKuE's post - need good speakers/monitors to bring out the full potential of the Shures.

true, i agree. :P

there is no point in getting high quality carts and having low quality speaker/monitor. (you wouldn't hear any differences at all in that case)

Dj_Psygnosis

www.storedj.com.au

2 x shure whitelabel $358

monitors: 2 x Yamaha s112 (Club series) - 600W rms.
<-----not the best tho, but good enough for monitoring, can be used as main speakers if its a small party.

amp: QSC RMX 850

yes,
if you have good input then you would need good output. So you can hear it!

your input source might sound crystal clear good quality sound but if your output (speakers) are not quality . Then it wwould still sound just about the same as normal standard carts, well maybe sounds abit better again depending on your speakers/setup.

also its like this
if you try and compare a pioneer mixer with an alien & health
it would sound the same on some low quality audio setup. but on a high quality audio setup you can tell the diff.

*as for recording try record a sample on both standard carts and whitelabels then playing them back on high quality headphones or simular. i bet you can tell*

if you got a Good input source then you need a good output source or else ya wasting alot of $ for no reason.
unless your planning to take it away to a venue with a nice setup then it would do some justice for you

hope that helps
cheers
Rob
