I have been hired outside of system, as a result of that mix and also has a result of what I play in a live set.

Those tracks - whether you would call them techno or not - are what I enjoy playing. You do not have to play one genre to be a good DJ or a popular one. Ever heard of a guy named Deko-Ze? Danny Howells? Misstress Barbara?

Dekoze would not spin those songs together and form a set with them....neither would Miss B....They're both much harder than you. I'm not going to mention Danny because I hate him....Anyway,
I didn't say that you have to spin only one genre to be respected....The truth is far from that....Look at Oakie, Pete Tong, etc they spin EXCITING music and manage to loop together many different genres in a fluid fashion. You don't do that.
Where have you been hired? Martini bars? You have talent but you need to rethink what people want to hear.

LOL So true...you should add Tiesto to that list...

Edit: That is NOT me jumping on the "I hate Tiesto bandwagon". He was the one that got me into the music. It's just since he started changing his style, he changed for the worse as he cannot do cross genre mixing fluidly...

Well they are don't ya think? I mean Oakenfold has spun just about every kind of music. I saw Pete Tong when I was in the UK a few times and he just blew me away too. One night he was progging it and the next it was all hard techy shit. Just because you don't like the kind of music someone spins, doesn't mean that they're a bad DJ btw.

If by "progging it" you mean "insufferably boring repetitive beats with no funk, feeling, or other substance", and by "hard techy shit" you mean "insufferably boring repetitive beats with no funk, feeling, or other substance", then yes, I agree with you.

I personally like Sarah's track selection quite a bit on that demo. The set's not 100% technical perfection but she's more than proven her technical ability in other instances.

So lay off. I wouldn't flame a valid criticism, but yours seem to all revolve around the fact that you just don't like her style. Fine; we understand that, but it's important to neither her nor us.

i'm quiet sorry but i find it highly illogical to invest in a pair of high end professional tables such as the tech12s if u are not a DJ. In my honest and humble opinion, i think it's FUCKING stupid. PP, if you have any issues with some TAs, PM them or find their contacts and argue in private. I find it direspectful for the rest to hear (read) this garbage.

Lol I can't spin or beatmatch but I do have 10 years of experience listening to the music. And believe me, I do know the music. The tech12 tables are for my boyfriend who spins drum and b and jungle and needs to be able to scratch.

gotcha.

yet again, i dont find ur critisizm to be either positive nor negative. I get the impression that there is some what of a vendetta or a personal issue involved. My point is still valid regardless to your use for the tables. On this board, issues are resolved through private communication. I'm quiet confident that Sarah would read her private messages. I would strongly suggest doing so (as in sending her a PM).

hrm, how did you know that?

Mrs. Spice, I can appreciate your opinion, but not the way you express it. I don't know you personally, but I have gotten a sense that this is just you being a wench rather than you caring enough to give me honest, constructive criticism. (ie. "it's boring")

I'm not going to run off my resume for you, but I will say that you misunderstand my intentions, among other things. DJing is a hobby for me - one that began a little over a year ago. I play what I enjoy, and if other people enjoy it too (which they seem to), then that's great. I'm happy to share it with them.

So don't assume you're doing me a favor here, by helping me to realize that my track selection is what is standing in the way of my full time DJ career. I have a degree and a full time career as it is.

Not everyone is out to be superstar attention whores, you know.
