the sound quality is very very good. when i record into my computer it sounds great (i do have an awesome soundcard and ortofon concordes though)

the effects are kind of useless, yeah. it's true that they aren't loud enough and when you use them and turn up the effects volume, the song is turned up. this is bad so i basically never use them.

anway the faders i found a bit tricky at first, you have to use a real gentle touch on them! but they are good! (i don't ever touch the xfader)

i only have 2 channels used (no cd dex) so maybe that's why mine doesn't get hot?

one issue i have is the levels, it will say the levels are the same on both your channels but when you listen to what you recorded it does't sound like that. or maybe i just need to check my levels by ear.

great mixer, i'm happy to have it. it works great for me!

i have had the mixer for about 6 months now... and I second ALL the above!!!

I haven't had issues with mine. I don't use the effects or anything, so its not an issue. I do have issues with the upfaders not doing anything until 7 or 8. I think it would help if I had better monitors though. I won't blame the mixer just yet. I am fortunate that my crew has a djm-600 and a tascam x-9 when we play out. I wanted more money for records, which is why I chose the 700. I would do it again.

you know i have noticed some slight hissing when there is no sound input.
but from reading this thread i bet it's the grounding or the cables. i have old cables.

no problems from this mixer as of yet...
