lol...ok...should I have put the little [HUMOR][/HUMOR] brackets around my last post? lol!

Apparently I've rubbed you GTAs the wrong way, and I am really sorry for whatever I said to do so. To be honest, I'm used to baing able to communicate with everyone I meet really easily and being able to form my words where everyone likes me all the time. When that didn't happen I got really sad, ask the FLTAs!

If you wish you can point out what I said to offend some of you and I'll retrace my thoughts and try my best to fix everything where we can start with a clean slate!

You gotta beleive me, everything I say to anyone that sounds offensive is only meant in jest! I think of you all as my fellow TAs reguardless of the country we live in, and I know that sounds lame and shit, but thats really the way I think...

Peace, love, and many monkeys!

Okay man, I'll try. I won't be of much real help though, since I don't live in Berlin and have no idea about the music industry, the scene, the underground scene and what not.

One thing you have to understand in reading these posts is that an endeavour such as yours is generally regarded as, uhm, brave as someone put it, but really meant is foolhardy. That's a result of German mentality, which is generally not entrepreneurial at all, in any respect. A German wouldn't consider such a move. Americans, however, do that kind of stuff all the time, the mobility just doesn't compare. Like it or not, you are an American, meaning a human being born and raised in America and certain habits or mentalities will just rub off on you. so don't be offended by the lukewarm reception of your idea! I for my part have always admired people jumping into the cold water like that.

So yeah, from an average German's point of view your move is nuts. It probably is. But that's not the point. You decided to do it and you CAN make it a success. THAT's what counts.

To make it a success, you'll have to deal with the bureaucracy bullshit, which we can't help you, since we never had to do any of this over here, obviously. That book is probably your best bet for that kind of shit. Finding work without a permit, dunno if that's gonna happen, rather difficult. In a somewhat private context yes, but not as a hamburger flipper at McD. They want paperwork. Maybe bartender or something?

As for the music scene, the Berlin TA's would be best to give advice. And regarding the SAE institute, fellow Berlin GTA Veracocha attents that, so ask him about it.

Oh, adn dailyife is easy for an English speaker, almost everybody speaks at least a tiny bit, so it is easy to live here for years without a word of German if need be.

Boefore I forget, hostels: good option, cheap, clean and all. Have stayed at 2 different ones myself. Here is a list of Bwerlin hostels:

www.backpacker.de
www.aobackpackers.de (very central)
www.sunflower-hostel.de (very close to Casino )
www.pegasushostel.de (close to Casino, too)
www.circus-berlin.de

What else? Lets just have a chat at Ultra. PM me your cell# then I can get in touch with you to arrange a meet up somewhere. I'll get there 3/5, in time for PvD@Space.
