i always thought that half of l-vee and mike's tunes were progressive trance, and the other half simply uplifting (except for a few techy tracks by mike).

i see it as, without e-music being broken into 1000 catgorizations:

(feel free to correct me, or quote and edit it to add artists or
change genres, so all of us can get the right idea)

Trance
- Hard Trance (Artists: Dumonde, etc)
- Uplifting Trance
- Progressive Trance (Artists: Leama, Humate, etc.)
- Techtrance (Artists: Marco V)
- Psytrance (psychedelic trance) (Artists: Infected Mushrom)
- Chillout Trance
- Deep Trance

House
- Progressive House (Artists: Steve Porter, Nalin & Kane)
- Funk House (Artists: Erick Morillo)
- Tribal House (Artists: Chus & Ceballos, Joeski, Marcelo Castelli)
- Tech House
- Psychedelic House
- Deep House (Artists: Kevin Yost)
- Hard House (Artists: Bad Boy Bill, Robbie Rivera)

Breakbeats
- Florida Breaks
- Nuskool Breaks
(a little help in this area would be appreciated)

Techno
- Detroit Techno (Artists: Derrick May)
- German Techno (Artists: Sven Vath)
- Minimal Techno (Artists: Danilo Vigorito)

Electro
- Can't really find any subgenres for this

Jungle
(help needed for this)

Drum 'n Bass
(help needed for this)

----------------------------------

yes, some people get a bit fuzzy when i mention psy house, but
i believe it is a proper subgenre, as it does describe a proper
categorization. check out Slacker - Live @ Global DJ Broadcast on
03-03-2003, to get a feel of what i mean. i didnt list slacker
as an artist for that subgenre because he is very versatile,
cant just call him that, although, that set defines psy house
pretty good. on the side of techno, i only listed those three
because the others just seem to have very little variation IMO.

Frankly, I think chillout/ambient should be its own genre.

i thought of it that way to a little bit, but i was too lazy
to type up a proper section for chillout/ambient. do the honors,
and ill edit it into my original post, or go ahead and quote/edit
it yourself.
