Everytime i walk into a cd shop they have these huge sections for like rap, rock, oldies, r&b, and the rest of the crap that's out there. Always though, they have like one or two shelves that are for "Dance/Techno".
Ticks me off.
I can't even get UNKLEs new cd because no where here sells it.
Maybe it's just the places that I shop in. My usual place to go buy music at is Bestbuy, or Mediaplay. But even in other stores it just seems that us tranceaddicts get the shaft. |
if u r in pittsburgh go to milk records in the strip, its on 31st street next to the bridge, big pink bilding, 3rd floor.
its just electronica.

I'm glad it's kept hush in the states. That's what makes a track sound better when you have to go thru trouble to get it. It sounds hell of a lot better. So i don't think anything should be done. And plus, if you know the rite people, you can get it. Don't go to places like mediaplay and BS places like that. Go to like sat records, or deejay shops. They'll have what dj's spin...If trance was mainstream, it wouldn't sound good"
So you telling me if you would live in Europe , then you wouldnt like trance as much as you do now?
You listening to the state of trance and stuff like that whats on the regular fm radio stations in Europe.
When i grew up , we had a bounch of techno and trance radio shows on the fm station, if i went to the mall i allways heard trance and techno playing at the Gap, Adidas, Nike and other retailer store.
But i loved techno in Europe becouse i liked the music and not becouse it was popular. I hate this when people in America saying ," Oh if trance would be mainstream and not undergound it would die"
That is not true , in Europe , trance and techno been mainstream for over a decade , and is not bad at all
You hear Chris Liebing and Dj Rush mixes on a german radios every saturday, you see live broadcast from Mayday,Loveparade,Sensation and Dance Valley on mtv or TMF. The reason why people knows techno and trance music in Europe , becouse the radio plays all kinds of sub gendres and people see with they own eye , raves is not about drugs.
If America would broadcast raves from Europe, people wouldnt be so against raves and techno clubs, then we wouldnt have this stupid rave act, becouse the goverment would see raves is not about drugs at all. No wonder why cities and law enforcments has no problem with raves in Europe

To hardstyle: first off, comparing the US to Europe is not resonable. How can you compare the land where it originated to the land where it is style growing? And second off, I am European. And another point is what music are you talking about growing listening to in a place such as ohio? Ohio is the least of places in america where growing up can lead you to a hard style trance life. and how are you able to put words in my mouth by saying that if i did live in europe i wouldn't like it bc the trance is mainstream. eh, what you think is a music scene in europa is not a music scene, it a culture. In america it is a scene and i'd rather it stay that wway. provitex read my mind. I personally do not want my next door neighbor coming to me asking me for the latest pvd cd i got or whatever. duude...it's simply dum to even argue this point because life in europe is different and the culture and way of life is not that of america's. the people are different, and it's not a teenie bopper thing over there. it would be over here if it were mainstream. That's completely ridiculous. if you love it enough to tell the whole world about it, i rather not listen to american dj's. y0u're giving them a bad name. no wonder european dj's are the top. they are who made it, it came from europe, it is not the american way of life, period. and it will not grow HOPEFULLY. THE END. |
Thank you!

Yes, but you have to keep in mind that the scene originated from there, so just like mastering a skill, Europe is very well educated when it comes to electronica. |
thats where ur wrong Dance music is a totally american import. we invented disco, techno, and garage music. from there, everything that we know today was either perfected by europe or sprung up from european listeners ie .acid house and the rave scene. since disco lost its allure here in the states, people adopted the same scene from europe but took it to the underground, fearing its demise would be the same like disco music. so basically, its not that this music can't be popular, its just we went with two different directions with it. the only thing stopping electronic music from being super mainstream here in the states is that nobody really wants to be innovative. what sells is pop and hiphop and some alternative. anything else is really unprofitable, and america is all about the money. sad but true
