It's a waste of time saying stuff in a chatroom that no-one wants to hear, isn't it?

That's because you need to stay on topic, you need to know what other people find interesting. Work on it. Read a couple of non-sense threads here in the Chill-out room. By the time you finish your reading, you'll have learned nothing, but you probably had fun reading those whacky posts.

Rent "American Pie", "Dude, where's my car?" and all the stupid movies you can get. Watch them. Understand the essence.

Finally, don't send the letter (I've always wanted to say it, sorry)

I'm also sorry if this post doesn't sound too bright, but I do need some sleep

It's not that I want to "make sure they know it", it's just that I don't have much else TO say and I get bored if I'm in a chatroom and no-one wants to hear what I have to say. After all, what's a chat room for? To chat, right? However, if I'm in one and I'm being more of a nussence (sp?) (either rightly or wrongly) than someone who can keep the conversation lively, I don't belong there... Bottom line?

for starters, you said youre on your computer "all the time" and the likelihood of you finding a girl is very slim if you spend all day in front of a computer screen. the kind of girl your looking for isnt just gonna show up on your doorstep. however, if you go out more, your chances of meeting someone with similar interests will drastically increase.

OK, time for some more words (paragraph)... I tend to be a bit paranoid of just walking up to someone and speaking to them, for fear they might be "taken" and who they're with may wonder why am I talking to her, etc. Plus, I have no idea how how to start and carry on a regular conversation without getting very technical. I could never defend myself come a day I may end up in a physical fight. Plus, when I am out, I pretty much walk around like a robot with my iRiver iMP-550 in a Case Logic CD player case tied around my waist on my belt, headphones blasting, etc. so, people would have a hard time getting it off me, should they try to just "pull it". I can't see just holding a 180 USD CD player in my hand whilst walking around outside. You probably figured that I was paranoid anyway and that's why I'm asking on here anyway...

You need to change basically anything and everything that you mentioned in that paragraph. Not even for the girls you meet, but for yourself!

As for being taken... haha. Believe it or not, the taken ones are the easiest to talk to. Why do girls flirt with me when they're with their boyfriends but not when they're alone... arrrrrgh.

Anyway... you're a geek. And there's nothing wrong with being a geek, but you have to learn how to be non-geeky when it's required of you. Learn to small talk, get some hobbies, leave the CD player at home and make eye contact with the people you see...

About the CD player, I only have it because I'm addicted to electronica to the extreme and can't stand walking around or waiting for a bus in silence for hours on end with nothing to do or hear or no-one to speak to or whatever. I don't have many friends to visit, etc. Everyone I know's busy with their life, etc. One or two of my friends have actually stopped talking to me because they found a girl-friend and they find me an uninteresting person to be around, unless they have questions for me (which they almost never do). And I only go anywhere when I have a purpose or need to be somewhere for something. I don't think I've went anywhere for leisure within the past 3 years! Everywhere I went, it was for a purpose... Yeah, I have hobbies but, they all have to do with computers & music (well, downloading it)!

Plus, I tend to act very literal as well. If someone told me to speak to every girl you think looks nice and you are interested in that you believe is around your age, I probably would do it if I was fearless and had no paranoia. But, then again, isn't it rude to just talk to everyone who falls into that category one after another, when you are showing signs that you are (perhaps desperately) looking for a g-f? I've often gotten told this exact sentence: "Get a life..."

You're going about this the wrong way:

Why look for a woman who has male interests? It be simplier to find a man who meets your criteria. Then become gay or pay him to have a sex change.
