The whole song was made in Reason to my knowledge.

Software is more powerful than you think. Re:Locate - Waterfall = ENTIRELY made in FL Studio. It was #1 for a week almost on Only-DJ's.com

And no, producers don't make shit. Im hoping to make enough with a release to pay for a vacation to Ibiza, that's about it. That's the best thing about trance producers is they do it for the love of the music and the love of seeing people dance to their music. If they wanted money they'd produce commercial dance.

err, its harder to qrite a commercial dance track (a popular one that is) than a regular tune. if you really thought you could be the next dj sammy (i.e. raking the cash in) you can't tell me you wouldnt do it?! i have a love for proper trance aswell, but id rather be a millionaire anyday, then id go make some decent music.

I would never bare the shame of creating "music" for the sake of material goods. Music is supposed to be a detachment from the superficiality of the world, its supposed to express real emotions. Unfortunately it isn't like this in a lot of genres any more.

Anybody could be the next DJ Sammy, the synths and melodies are all very easy to make.

ok take this example...

If you are like the average joe and work 9-5 every weekday, chance are you are in a job which is boring/repetitive, and you basically don't do it for hte love of it.

Well, what if that job was enough to make you extremely rich if you did it for 2-3 years of your 80yr (approx) life?!

Hopefully you'll see the perspective where im comming from. i think its worth it. you can then spend the rest of your life making the music you love and have passion for.

as for producing tunes liek dj sammy, well.. you're missing the point completely. indeed the sounds may be easy to pull off, but it's all about APPEAL. you could make a tune that has the hallmarks of any chart euro-trance-chart shite, but if it dosent have the appeal, it wont make it. why dont you do it for a laugh if its that easy. you'd be suprised who jon riva (as in stringer) produces under. Im not going to blow the secret of the century here, but he keeps it pretty quiet!

You're proving my point for me, which is that all forms of art have been ridiculously commercialized. It is true what you say about the average 9-5, but that's a desk job where you may be working with spreadsheets and databases. Music, on the other hand, is supposed to be expressive and personal. When you strip all that is genuine out of any form of art, it has lost all of its feeling. You can hear that in most pop-trance records, an absence of true emotion.

I would never desecrate music by manufacturing cheese tracks to get rich. If you would then that's your perogative.
