fuck awesome night!

Everything has been said.

But two choons that abosolutley went off that are not listed are.

Ronald Klinkenberg - Monday Groove (fuck me he worked this track well, played it near the start. Moved the pitch right down the track went really slowwwwww then as the build up comes up he makes it faster and faster, everyone just going fucking nuts the build up is one of the most intense buildups i have ever heard, i so need this track! He played it about 4 or 5 tracks in)

and

Airbase Vs Dj Stigma - Hunting 2004 TUNE!!!!! Love this tune!

I loved his set, liked the "harder" stuff (it really wasnt that hard wade, it was just a bit techy), so much more energy than some of the girly shit he plays.

Rockin set, but TIesto NYE still holds number 1

Tech-trance will always have more energy then uplifting....

And the stuff I was talking about wasn't tech-trance[i know the difference ](I know there was tech in there, that's not what I was talking about)...it was just pounding bass....it wasn't even fast.....it just had huge basslines. No1's ID'd abotu 1/2 his set, and being recorded I doubt he was playing ALL promos....must be tracks we don't know. And as a group TA listens to a fair bit of tech trance and couldn't ID much of it, meaning...anyhow...tomato tomato

WOW ! words cannot simply describe last night. Big ups to all the ta's that made it down and enjoyed what was probably the most memorable trance journey to brace our shores. Night started out really fine, with Jumping Jack playing a good opening set, which included Tiesto - Traffic and the crowd really got into the groove from there on.

Then ARMIN ! what a recption he recieved from the sublime crowd. The noise was incredible and it didn't end until the last beat of Rank 1 - Breathing (Breaks mix). Started off with some progressive, and Lee my friend we got our wish ! Portishead - Roads (Sultan and the greek mix) was the second track Armin dropped and it sent me into an absolute frenzy. Set structure I thought was excellent, he really built it up well and played some of my all time favourite trancers including:

Super 8 - Alba
Castaneda - Floor Control
Solar factor - Urban shakedown
Fictivision - Escape (Phynn mix)

As the end drew to a close, some classics in the form of 7 cities (AvB mix) and Communication capped off a night a shall never forget. Hope u all enjoyed as much I did. Long live the legend, which is Armin Van Buuren

night started pretty shitty for me, we were only just going to make it inside in time for Armin's set, when my friend was told he couldnt get in because he was wearing leather shoes!

wtf! fuck you Home!

They werent dress shoes or anything ffs, they were like soft leather boots kinda thing.

to make it worse he doesnt even own a pair of sneakers (sad case I know)

so he had to call a friend, but he doesnt yet have his full liscence, only L's so I was goign to have to drive him.. but I'd popped my pill about 20 mins before and so wasnt goign to drive under those circumstances. Thankfully by the time we got to a car he had managed to convince a friend to drive over there with a pair, I ran back and got inside (was worried that the pill would hit me as I was trying to get in and I would be refused entry but managed to stave it off :P)but I missed like the 1st 20 mins of Armin Friend eventually got in like 30 mins later.

The first half of the set wasnt really to my liking, as DJ Way said it was a bit hard, and not much uplifting stuff.

The 2nd half was awesome though, all in all a top night although I dont think it was as good as his 3hr set at Gas last year

bah! i love those basslines, got more balls in them Like Mark Norman - Stream, rockin tune

Its not a hard trance bassline, its just a nice tough driving bassline.

Anyways i cant wait to hear the set, so many tunes i want to ID (mostly from the hard bit :P)

Yeah that's the stuff the "bally" bass lines...

Hard trance basslines are small/short and the track itself is fast...these tracks had hard (as in full) basslines. [IE hard bass not style of genere].

well, armin managed to impress me - which was great, considering i went into it not expecting to be impressed....i was expecting his usual style of an hour of half-assed prog tracks followed by a few hours of pumping out uplifting track after uplifting track (well that's maybe not so much his style lately, but i'd say it's what he's pretty well-known for).........but i was verrrrry surprised (pleasantly!!!!) by just how techy and driving and edgey so much of his set was.....was just what i was hoping for, but didn't expect to actually get........for me, he balanced it just right - lots of harder driving techiness, with just the right amount of big melodic tracks thrown in - and i liked how he spaced them out instead of churning them out one after another...........very nice if he keeps going this way, i may just have to start really loving him again looking forward to seeing what he'll do at Sensation White now!!!!

was great to see all the usual suspects again.......won't mention names, but u all know who u are sorry i wasn't my usual sociable self....but eddie and i came literally an inch away from losing our lives on the drive up there last nite and the whole "life flashing before ur eyes" thing doesn't put u in the most sociable of moods.......i needed my headspace, and was happy to just chill up front with my camera and take 750mb of video *lol* (thanx for the loan of the extra memory cards bragi!!!!)

oh, my one complaint was the lighting in the booth....it was just soooooo damn dark....armin was barely lit up at all - makes it hard to get good vids but oh well - can't have it all!!!

Chiming in a bit late I guess .. had an awesome night, first time I'd been to Sublime since they moved the main floor 90° anti-clockwise, but the new setup works much better I think. Though it was annoying having to push through the entire crowd to get to the bar, and then push back through the crowd to get back to where you were...

Minor gripes aside, Armin was brilliant! He started off with the niche melodic prog-trance genre that he's claiming more and more as his own, built up into the uplifting, dropped it down into the tech-trance. Brought it back up again for the last hour, the best of his back catalogue (Seven Cities and Communication), and the huge new stormers to close. Superb set!

Most of the mixing was pretty good, though he started to slip a bit towards the end, given that this was his first gig in Australia he was probably still a bit jet-lagged and so starting to get quite tired.

Track-wise, everyone's pretty much covered all that I can remember. I guess we'll just have to wait for the recording now

Good to party with everyone once again! No disrespect to anyone, but after being in Melbourne last weekend it was good to be back home and jumping up & down with the extended family.

By the way, who was it that came up to me and said "you don't really look like the guy from Neighbours!" I was gunna chat to you, but it was in the middle of Communication and once I'd finished going nuts, I turned around and you were gone!!

Lastly, respect to Home and Big Beat for putting on such a quality event. The lights and lasers were excellent, and the sound system was one of the best I've heard. Really crisp, clear and punchy, with volume by the bucketload (though my ears are still ringing slightly from it - perhaps time to check the tinnitus thread again). I think the pre-sale tickets made a big difference as well, seemed like a lot of the Sublime regulars didn't manage to get in. Thankfully very few sweaty shirtless gurners, except for one chick who took her top off to get it signed by Armin - that was pretty . And all the sik subbiezzz crew were nowhere to be seen. Perhaps they retreated to the Terrace, or better yet, Plastic .

All in all, a classic night, definitely one of the best. I was going to try and rate this against his 4 hour set at Gas last year, or against Tiesto at Mobile Home, but I've decided that if all were brilliant nights, what's the point in rating them? Mainly because I've been unable to separate them

Now time for some sleep

PS. Sel - it wasn't that good.

Dude, there comes a point where you say to your friends: OK fine, you guys go where you want. I'm staying here for the best night of my life, if you stay then good, if not, stiff shit."

I think we've all said that to friends at one point or another
