I suppose I'm the only real tranceaddict here in my town, but I have good luck cos' techno is popular here and I like too. We have good techno clubs and ppl know the names of the big techno Dj's.
About trance I try to introduce it to my friends (burning cd's or telling good tunes to them) and in fact some of them like trance and even sometimes I can listen trance in their cars and I'm glad to listen trance in a different car than mine. But it's dificult cos' no trance clubs and no trance radio stations here, so trance doesn't have diffusion. Cheese is also popular (Dj Sammy, Milk inc, Kate Ryan...) and on dance radio stations you can listen some overplayed and famous trance tracks like Nothing but you, let it rain, lethal industry... but nothing more like that!
I feel strange when ppl ask me; what music do you listen?¿ and at first time I answer trance! and then goes the typical fucking question what the hell is trance?¿ is it similar to what?¿ and I have to say you know like techno... bump! bump! I feel strange cos' then I talk with dutch, english... friends and some of them don't like trance but they know who is Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk or the Gatecrasher. Even the foreigner girls (friends), who hate trance and love R'nB, know these names and they know what is trance! So in some places specially U.K., The Netherlands exist a trance culture. An example; I read in a Misja Helsloot's interview that Tiesto can't walk on the Netherlands streets without to sign an autograph to a fan, here nobody would recognize Tiesto!!
