I hear people telling that most DJs play the same record... That has always been in that way, but through unlimited broadcasts and livesets these days, they notice it now...
I think that the internet made it very hard for DJs te become original, cause everything is on the net. Only the big names can play new tracks on cdr (i mean GOOD quality new tracks.) Even promo's are on the net before the official release. I am not saying that this is wrong, but people should realize that they created this situation. They download everything, miss nothing and complain about sets with the same and no new tracks.
If i listen to tracks from 1998 or something, the quality of the sound is not as good as the quality of the sound of now. Its getting better and better IMO. The tracks from those good old days are still good, but I am talking about the quality of sound... |
Nice and true spoken! They quality is so much better today, just check 4 instance Ferry Corsten's - Right of Way album. It's pure quality, especially if you compare it to one of his first (mixed) albums. But I think we'd rather have to read here "creativity" instead of "quality". And maybe you would say the creativity is less, but I'd rather say nowadays it's all familiair to us.. trance = trance.. I mean pop, R&B & rock sounds also always the same!
Also about the broadcasts I'd agree with G-Force. We're just spoiled, cause there are tons of livesets and almost every recently made tune is played in there, while in the "earlier" period most people only heard the best tracks. Don't forget that there is also so much bad trance from 1997,etc. I've got lot's of compilations with average tunez. Every year has his own top tracks, and to me each year from 1997 (when trance really started to grown) has produced lot's of quality tracks.
