And yes, I do think it's about time that a thread like this was made. I like other genre's of EDM (And even classical and ambient stuff), but I still like trance. If you have 'grown out' of it, then great, good for you. There's still no need to jump down people's throats when they talk about it, heck this is tranceaddict.com, is it not?

now this has turned out to be a trance vs. prog vs. techno battle. how cool.

people have different tastes. every different genre has its good points and its bad points.

i agree that the really great thing about this site is that it is not only about trance. we have fans of pretty much every different kind of EDM. go check trance.nu and how boring it is there, everyone seems to have the same musical taste.

personally i do think that prog seems to be a natural way to move out from trance. i kinda went that way. but then there are really bad prog tracks, as well as really good trance tracks.

i agree too that there's no need to start threads like 'trance is dead, prog is the shit'. or well, there would be, if there wasn't like 10 threads like that per month.

It's all good, I just prefer some genres over others, and it changes constantly. Yeah I agree there is no reason to make threads about it if there already is one debating / discussing the topic. It's ok to check if there's others like you, but doing it to be elite is plain stupid.

Concentrate about the music, not why you like it and what your taste has changed into

Mr. Mystery, you bring up a good point in being one of the only ones admitting that you are still into trance amidst all the people that seem to move on as a method of natural evolution from Trance into Prog and House and Techno. I was beginning to believe a while back that I would eventually get tired of Trance and move on to other pastures. You come across a bit critical though.

I'm one of the older TAs and have been listening to Trance for a while. And to tell you the truth I have not moved on from Trance. As a DJ, I incorporate other music styles into my sets... such as breakbeat, quite a bit of prog, and the random Techno track here or there... but I always build my set up to the remixes of Adagio for Strings or into a Rank 1 track or to many other pure uplifting tracks. Trance has something that no other genre has, all genres are different and can all be used in different ways. After 3 years I don't think I'll move on from trance and I'm happy about it...
