yeah, ok then were all agreed.

PvD uses the same bassline, and some people love him.

i think thats all there is to this story, since PvD isnt even the first DJ to use Final Scratch. BT has been using it for some time, and he is wayyy more talented in production that Van Dyk. I say this only because beyond traditional mixing techniques, a DJ that cannot manipulate the loops, edits and tracks within Final Scratch isnt using it to its full potential.

but then again WGAF, James Zabiela is a human Final Scratch - and anyone that doesnt recognize that shouldnt care about Final Scratch's capabilities|

No, it doesn't take the skill away from it if the majority of your own mixes have different basslines. You can not tell me that it's just as difficult to mix to another song with the same bassline as the one you're currently spinning as it would be had there been two different basslines.

ok

While he does have alot of his own tracks/remixes in his sets normaly they won't be played one after the other (2 or 3 in a row max) so the majority of the time the tracks have different base lines...

Bah..i know that!!

My point is, its setting a bad example because the Final Scratch system also accepts mp3 - you heard of em? You can download anything you fucking want at the click of a button. Now when the general public start getting on Final Scratch after seeing all these DJs using it, they're gonna do exactly that. They aint gonna pay for a thing, vinyl sales will drop, and the whole culture which has been round since DJing began, and the whole culture which makes DJing soo fun is lost.

Quite simply, i dont agree with DJs using Final Scratch. "OoOooo i can take 4000 tracks on tour" - who gives a fuck PvD, you play the same 30 tunes everytime

James Zabiela is by far techinally a better dj than paul van dyk,the way blonde kid attacks the cdj's minulpates each track with amounts of echos, flanglers, doing live editing cueing up another track abosulty perfectly beat matched with the other tune then on the breakdown u recive a moment of flurished broken beats with a melody to die for,GOD BLESSED ZABIELA

A little off topic:
If someone was to download 192 kbps mp3 to use with final scratch will it be better for them to convert these files to .wav or will the sound quality remian the same?

IMO being a deejay isn't all about trying to locae the missing records but to make the crowd happy and to entertain them... clubs don't care if you're playing the most rare tunes you can get on a record they only care that their consumers are having fun..i think final scrath is an excellent hardware that combines traditional format with the modern format...it doesn't come to replace vinyls but it supports them.

Sound quality will remain the same. MP3 works by taking away parts of the sound wave, there is no process on earth that can add them back in....

No, once you have a file in 192 and you convert it to any audio file format at the highest quality possible, the quality is still 192.

If you want the highest quality mp3, encode the mp3 at 320.

If all djs move to final scratch format, whats really the point of buying records anymore (i mean for other djs. famous djs dont have to buy vinyl, they get it for free).

What im saying is, if the future is final scratch, then whats the future of vinyl? obselete?
