 The Tiesto Mix was not "released" until July 2000, as with Most tracks the promo's are played and spun by various DJ's , radio stations etc as promo's then a while later the final version is released.
The promo was finished in May 2000 but the final version was not officialy released until JULY.
As for the Airscape mix being an imitation of the Tiesto mix well they were both produced at the same time as each other,
Leeb and Fulber approched Tiesto and Airscape to do the remixes at the same time.
Tiesto only agreed to do the remix if he could release his version on his 2 upcoming albums, Summer Breeze and In Search of Sunrise Vol 2.
Hence why the tiesto mix was out before the airscape mix.
Leeb and Fulber do this with many of their tracks, Innocente being a good example too, Tiesto again doing a mix for that as well as deep dish etc etc etc.
It's a good marketing ploy, release a track then get DJ's to mix it and re release, hence making more money for themselves.
Each time a track is remixed the original artist gets a cut of the royalities ( Mostly, cos some original artists use the remixer for promo reasons )
So Tiesto and Airscape Mixes were PRODUCED at round about the same time but released on different dates.
The Airscape mix may not have been officaly released until October 2000 but was being spun as early as June 2000.
