2. Furiously searches for and then downloads trance songs, mostly cheese. Finds online community full of snobby veterans who makes fun of his newb tracks. <-- Twiloboard.

3. Newbie listens to the advice of the veterans and downloads better tracks. Starts to see beat patterns in trance and really enjoys the music for what it is. This stage is like a baby... pure and innocent. <-- PvD's Soundgarden, Digweed's Kiss100, Global Dj Broadcast.

Not by accident, his newer friends like trance too. <-- Introducing friends, relatives and their friends to EDM and Twilo.

5. After some time, our trance listener becomes a veteran. He posts on forums making fun of newbies for their primitive tastes. He becomes upset when his favorite tracks become mainstream. Starts to call 90% of all music cheese. <-- Becoming a proud and honored member of TA.com.

6a. Starts listening to other genres and see's the light... posting on how trance is dead, how it's not the same, how tiesto sucks, etc. and how techno/house/progressive/tech-trance or jungle is the best kind of music in the world. <--- Respects music that comes from the heart, some ambient stuff, some Linkin Park, some traditional Chinese music: http://www.tcen.org/music/

6b. Decides to become a DJ <--- hehe sort of working on this...

6b here. Definitely not 7. God, I hope I don't get there. I like my discriminating taste in music.

I really like traditional Chinese music. No, I'm not kidding. But your downloads sort of suck as far as that genre goes.

Im at level 4 except i dont think all my friends are following my lead. I hope i can bypass stage 5 because it looks really sad with people flaming others for liking so called 'cheese' trance/techno.

why do people always put trance SLASH techno as if they are alike or something? its like going "today i was in the car and i heard punk/new age on the radio!"

Sorry, maybe I was a little harsh. I just hate when they use synthesizers instead of traditional instruments, and when they incorporate any western vocals.

I just got a CD with the vocals of a Tibetan folk singer named Kelsang Chukie Tethong which is nice. It's by Narada, so there's some westernization, but not too much. Check out some samples on Amazon here.
