Hey everyone, he said he listened to "Kontakt - show me a sign" and he wants to find some trance with a "darker" sound, i think you guys got the wrong idea.
He is only new to trance, so i doubt he would like Marco V or someone like that straight away.
If you have heard Kontakt - Show Me A Sign, then you would know that it is a standard uplifting vocal trance song........
Therefore i think you should give him suggestions for uplifting/vocal trance....
That's my 2 cents, anyway

Well, Iron Maiden have some good songs and I agree they're very talented musicians, but I've never been a fan of them. If you check out Dream Theater (my fav band), they're all great musicians, the guitarrist (John Petrucci) is considered one of the world's best right now, aswell as the drummer, keyboardist and bassist
Check them out
Can you recommend any Iron Maiden songs?
My favorites in no order:
Iron Maiden - The Trooper
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
Iron Maiden - Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Iron Maiden - Alexander The Great
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
Iron Maiden - Afraid To Shoot Strangers
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark (Live at Rock in Rio)
Iron Maiden - Aces High
You should check out their live shows, in video though. The decorations of the set are incredible as well as the side shows they have going on.
Eddie lives.

Hmm... I've found that it's fairly easy to get metalheads somewhat into trance, they're a bit more predisposed than say your typical rap/r&b/pop fans... How about the song "Friendzone" by Avalanche? There's an electric guitar riff in that.. and the Ralphie B mix of "Highlander" by Taste Experience also has a good 80's style electric guitar riff in that...
But I've stopped listening to them all together except for some progressive stuff from Dreamtheater or steve vai/joe santriani duo.
And yeah.. Phantom Manor.GET IT
"GO OUT AND BUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ITTTT!" LOL
I suggest you start out with the big names first trance newbie.Everyone does.Go with the old oakenfold, tiesto, pvd,AVB, Ferry Corsten.
Given how easily people get addicted to trance..I'm giving you 3 months before you start saying how "Tiesto sucks"
And yeah.. metal kids are very easy to convert.I used to be one of them

Thanks guys. You wont convert me though... I will be listening to metal until im 80 . Or at least till im 55, like my dad... I'm very critical and trance doesn't do it for me on a more technical level, I just really like the sounds of some of the stuff.
The Kontakt song is in a minor key, and thus has a darker (undertain, etc) sound to *me*... not the chorus maybe, but the rest.
Thanks dudes, when I get the time i'll be sure to check the suggested tracks out!
