The bottom line, is you want a future in the dj industry internationally not just locally, you gotta think beyond the square you live in. As said in numerous posts, you gotta push boundaries, discover new tracks, and keep your sound totally different to whats already out there. Its about differentiating yourself from your competitors. This goes with anything you do. Everyone can have good equipment, every one can learn to beat match. But not everyone can pick out a decent record or be able to read a crowd. Although granted i love my anthems id have more respect for a dj who dropped a corker of a track that i never heard of
Also do you notice that although armin, tiesto, ferry and pvd are all trance djs there sets are nowhere near identical???? This is because they have created their own sound, from records they pick or get given or even create If all 4 were caning exactly the same shit, no one would give a shit about em.
To be different is good imo

Oh, life is bigger ,It's bigger than you,And you are not me,The lengths that I will go to, The distance in your eyes ,Oh no, I've said too much, I set it up
That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you ,And I don't know if I can do it, Oh no, I've said too much,I haven't said enough, I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try.
But that was just a dream, That was just a dream, But that was just a dream, Try, cry, why try? That was just a dream ,Just a dream, just a dream, Dream
