Generally, I don't like vocals. The way I see it is it's like an emotional page in a book: without vocals, you have to read between the lines to pick up what the character is feeling, and if it's well written then that's fairly obvious. It would say, for example, "After hanging up with Brenda, Tod threw the telephone accross the room." But with vocals, it's spelled out for you, like you're a dummy: "After hanging up with Brenda, Tod was very angry, so he threw the telephone accross the room to take out his anger."
Now, I'm not saying all vocals are bad. Well placed, they can be very effective. But in general they are overdone and take away the subtlety of the music. And yes, nachos do sound pretty good right about now.
