Thumbs up

Depeche Mode had a big influence on my musical taste. I really loved their style. Also they used to be unbelievable live.

I saw Sander Kleinenberg last Saturday and he played a remix of Depeche Mode - No Good.

random question since I wasn't of age back in those days...

Why do people consider Depeche Mode or New Order (New Wave/Retro) homosexual music?

I mean I know most of it is emotional and deep tracks...but I still don't get it?

I know someone is always going to hate something, not everyone can like the samething, just like how EDM is now days, but that's because mainstream music is over taking people's emotions.

Wasn't New Wave/Retro the shit back in the days?

because alot of new wave artists WERE in fact gay... ie. Franky Goes To Hollywood, Dead or Alive, Alison Moyette from Yaz, Andy Bell from Erasure etc.. its easy for a straight new wave band to get stereotyped like DM.

Thank you for the German lesson. I have learned a lot today. I hope you make it as a teacher.

I will be doing revisions to my german language sigs.

,,ein" is the German word for "a." But there are masculine, feminine, and neuter versions of it. In the nominative case, there is:

ein - der (masculine)
eine - die (feminine)
ein - das (neuter)

ein Volk works, cause Volk is neuter ,,das Volk"

die Musik (music) is feminine, and this is where you need ,,eine Musik" ... like if you wanted to say, "a cat" you'd say ,,eine Katze" because die Katze is feminine

actually for Berliner... in German you don't need to say ,,ein" (a). For instance, if I was saying I am a teacher, I would say, "Ich bin Lehrer." Loosely in English, I am teacher, without the "a." This is natural for German. To say I am American, I'd say, Ich bin Amerikaner," not "Ich bin ein Amerikaner."

So I think you want to say simply ,,Berliner" - pvd is a native berlin dude

DJ is masculine, so it is ein DJ

and for ,,des Jahres" I need to clarify this with some native German speakers. ,,des Jahres" is the high german way we are taught in America, but I have heard varying ways of this. The general rule is if the word is only one syllable, to ad the ,,es" on the end or if the word ends in an "s", and if it is two syllables, to only ad the ,,s"

(ie) Das Fenster des Hauses -- it Haus ends in "s" so add the ,,es" the window of the house

Die Farbe des Autos -- Auto is two syllables and doesn't need the ,,es," just ,,s"

sorry, I don't have that picture... if any native speaking Germans could give this a look over, that'd be coo

I'm studying German in College to be a High School German teacher. I'm not trying to diss your sig., I just thought you might want it to say exactly what you're tyring to say

cool man, glad I could help. Back to Depeche Mode, yeah they are most excellent and definitely helped me get through high school. I'd love to see a new album from them in the near future, but who knows. If you guys like Portishead, they are supposedly back in the studio working on new material with know actual release date for an album known.

Depeche mode definitely helped me with electronic music. I like the "violator" album best, and this has to be the best introduction to the mode for anyone who has managed to not hear their stuff before (how could that be!).

Aren't they like...50 by now? Which isn't that old, but sometimes things are better left how they were.
