Personally I think older people should be allowed to enjoy EDM at clubs and events. I think it's rude when I see someone belittling the older person because they have good taste too.

I think if an older person (30-50) likes EDM, it's a credit to young people bcuz the music is good enough to earn their respect. Not all of us rebel. Some may even think that dj's like digger and cox are bad mouthing Trance bcuz they are ashamed of grewing too old for Trance.

For the Record, I think your only as young as you feel, right?

I say party on!!!!!!

I'm 40, been into EDM since it exists, still love Trance and I enjoy clubbing. What exactly is the problem?

Also, tell that to some of the big name DJ's (i.e. PvD, Oakenfold, Sasha, Digweed, Carl Cox, etc). They are near 40 as well.

Hey Neo, think you'll still be spinning 10 years from now?

Personally though, i have yet to go to a club and hear these well known DJ's spin, but given the chance, i would go see them. You would probably find me in one of the corners just mellowing to the music (no chemicals needed, unless it was beer )

I will continue to spin trance, listen to trance and go clubbing for trance as long as trance still makes me feel like it has done for the last 14 years
I am now 35 and got into trance when i was about 21.
i don't feel out of place at clubs with younger ppl, i have seen older ppl at clubs and most of the ppl i know and go clubbing with (the UKTA's) are in thier 20's and they accept me as i accept them.
ppl who love trance

No probs really, just a friend who's afraid to go clubbing bcuz he thinks others there might think he's too old to be there. So I started this thread to see if he's right about his assumptions.

I'm glad most are accepting.

you know what's funny... I am willing to bet that most of us older ones who enjoy EDM, have been listening to it since the beginning. And for those of us that's true for... trance hasn't even "earned our respect" necessarily, its that we have enjoyed watching and hearing it grow from the natural progression of EDM.

If anything, I would prefer to be seen as a seasoned veteran, who really understands what it is all about

To all of you TA's who are over 30 - I hope I am still like you when I am that age !! Keep being kewl, congrats for not taking on the stereotypes of your age.

I am 20 now, I have been into trance for 3 years. I know for sure that I will not keep up with the party scene after I am 25, but I know I will still love the music. I will go to lounges and smaller bars that play EDM, and will always enjoy it. I know this is true because I don't really listen to any other types of music...

Let's hope there's no age limit on that, cause I plan on listening to trance my whole life.

so embarassing. kind of wanted to feel sorry for him, but i was too busy laughing my ass off.

There's a pretty old guy that comes the the local top 40 club in San Bernardino, but everyone gives him respect and are glad to see him. They laugh at him cuz he looks funny dancing but most of the time they high five him and he even won the wet t-shirt contest on his birthday cuz everyone was cheering for him. I was happy that people have a hope that even when they get old they will still be able to party. So many girls were grinding on him on his birthday, I was happy the old guy was getting some action at his age too.

NO NEVER! Just because you get old doesn't mean you can't listen to the same music you have listened to for many years!!!
