I first joined in 2004 but I didn't post in the COR until at least the middle of 2005. I think 2006 and 2007 were pretty great.

Yep I definitely recall ppl back then being much more friendly. Starting around the mid-2000s I think a bunch of fuckwits and trolls started to join and their snarky, biting responses I think did a lot to drive away the friendlier ppl

It's probably a function of age more than anything. You can't stay a PLUR-kid forever. Well, some people do try, I guess...but Peter Pan-ism never looks good on anybody.

These old threads from 2000-2002 read like exactly what they are: a bunch of teenagers talking inane shit to each other. No surprise, given that trance was always the gateway genre for teenagers.

I don't know about the COR, but my favourite year of TA was probably 2009. It was still very active but we had some great high-level music chatter in MD, pretty sure the COR was in good form and DJ Promotion was responsible for some classic mixes I still listen to today.

I used to get a lot of heat for not censoring/banning people back then... mainly from DJs who didn't like some of the things being said. The funny thing is that Twitter is 1000x worse for directing anonymous insults.
