I'm pretty sure your right. But records are meant to be broken. If a team hasn't done it yet, why not now?

Okay, but isn't that what I already stated? Detroit knows that 3-2 is probably what will realistically happen after these next 3 games, but if that does occur, they will most likely lose the series in LA. Therefore, they need to sweep next 3 or chances are, its over for them, and they KNOW this. LA is hard to win at, we saw it in game 2. So, sweep or lose for Detroit, really no other alternative if you think about it.

And for those that want to argue that Detroit could win another game in LA is dreaming. If LA wins one game in Detroit and gets home court advantage back, Detroit loses the Finals. So with these several outcomes possible, what do you think Larry Brown and Company think that they have to do?

Its sweep or lose. Simple.

A lot of teams have been in sudden death situations knowing they're finished if they don't win. It doesn't automatically mean they're going to win on heart alone. The whole "I want it more" just doesn't work in this situation, because even though the Pistons know they have to win, Malone and Payton would shove their mothers off a train for a ring. So there are arguments for both side of why they need to win, and why they "should".

As for records are meant to be broken...not this time.

After watching game 2, I believe Kobe will have his way in this series, and Shaq as always. I doubt Kobe will dominate the Pistons in game 3 since they'll probably make major adjustments in guarding him, but I guarantee he will atleast have a significant impact in all the games. Shaq is unstoppable. Put all 5 Pistons on him, he'll still tear them, 'nuff said about that. The Pistons are a worthy contender considering how much depth their roster has, but Lakers are just too much for them. Lakers will win their 15th championship of their franchise by game 6.

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. - Timothy Leary

Game 3 stats:

Shaquille Oneal: 14 Pts 8 Reb 38 Mins
Post Season Average: 21 Pts 13 Reb 41 Mins

Kobe Bryant: 11 Pts 3 Reb 5 Ast
Post Season Average: 25 Pts 5 Reb 6 Ast

Hey matt...Atleast you got one-half the equation correct...kobe stunk like poo-poo...and the wrong half of your equation was shaq-diesel gettin shutdown and detroit's defense owning LA for the majority of this game...and after seeing the game Detroit put together tonight, to say that the lakers see game 7 at this point is reaching...15th championship will have to wait till next year at the least.
