u might also want to try out orion platinum from http://www.synapse-audio.com/. the learning curve is very less compared to fruty. in fact fruity has purchased one of orions generators called wasp. do check it out orion.

No, you need some mastering software also in order to finish your tracks. Wavelab or Soundforge ( AVB uses it too ) are great programs for mastering your tracks.

I don't know if you need a keyboard. Some producers are amazing with only a mouse. They write better stuff with their mouse then with a keyboard. If you need a keyboard then get a soundcard with an ultra low latency ( ask your retailer about which laptop soundcards have low latency )

Also look for free and commercial refills at http://www.internet.is/reason/

Reason costs about $500 doesnt it? Fl costs $50-$150, and u dont have to buy anything extra if u dont want to, theres plenty of quality free effects and synths (really). Id say fl is by far the cost effective choice.
