I definantly enjoyed myself.
finally a party that I could actually ID some songs.

IMF last weekend I was having a hard time

Azim played his usual set.

Montana & Res dropped some great tracks, never disapointing.

And Lange's set was FLAWLESS. Got some pics with him, got a record signed.

Good vibe, good venue, good people, a good night.

I hope to see another headliner in the same place again soon.

Thanks UNION.

PS. Dude, how did you know I dont post on TA anymore? :\ who was that?

heh.. taking note of the posted set times definetely pays off!

Hung out with Montana & Res and they had the place going nicely during their set from 11-12.. if anyone was paying attention, their 2nd to last track was a rework of my own that I recently gave to the boys and it sounded pretty sweet! Then Lange rocked it for a full 2 hrs from 12-2. Some people have a habit of arriving too late out to these shows though and miss some great stuff, not to mention having more time to relax and enjoy the night! I came out to support my bros Montana & Res and was there by 10:30 and by the time it ended I thought it was perfect timing. No need to drag it out. Although I admit maybe Azim had a bit to do with me being ready to head out. After hearing Montana & Res & Lange play I wasn't up for hearing Jonesey Independance sped up to +5 or whatever it was at, as well as other tracks that weren't really much what I wanted to hear at the time. Aside from that this party was a head turner to me.. something I haven't seen in van for quite a while. There was a good vibe there, the venue I thought was killer and provided a way more intimate warm setting, not to mention the balcony area was wicked and the fact that it was all windows on the one wall so when you were on the balcony you could still see everything going on in the party.

Also the sound wasn't cutting out from anyone tripping over the power cords, it was from the system being OVERDRIVEN. Lange had this problem once in his set (bass cabinets shutting down briefly), after someone had turned the volume up, but then he kept it from happening again and was fine the rest of his set. Azim unfortunatwely had the bass cranked way too loud and as a result managed to cut it a few times in a short time period as well as have a lot of bass feedback.. but then didn't seem to turn it down at all, and so a couple mins later (as I was expecting) suddenly the whole system went!! It was down for maybe 90 seconds roughly and then afterwards the bass eq wasn't caned as hard so there were no further probs.
The sounds wasn't all that loud in the back, but if you wanted it loud you could just go up front. It DEFINETELY added a lot to the vibe though having lange right there with the crowd rather than 30 feet away up on a big tower or something! I'm sure many people enjoyed seeing Lange like that!

Anyways, props out to montana & res and lex and the whole UNION & FNK family... I hope you guys appreciated what they put into this and what they are trying to do!

These UNION shows are FAR from being any sort of cash grab and I can quote Montana last night early on (when he was just a bit worried for a sec wondering if enought people would show up, since people were takin their sweet time to all rush in last minute) in saying:
"Either way I don't care.. I just payed 10 grand so we could party with Lange and it was worth it cause we're all gonna have an awesome time!"

HUGE respect from me to the whole crew.. a wicked party and I hope none of you guys miss the next one and ARRIVE EARLY ENOUGH to enjoy more of the show!! (they started at 8pm!)

Support the people that are in the scene to give to it not just milk it!

cheers,

//T

*See you guys on Fri July 23rd at VIVA!

they are not at all, but i thought the $40 at the door was slightly too steep

as for track IDs i have no clue, i'm very much out of the loop these days. i remember hearding tiesto's love comes again, some sort of a remix. there was the gabriel and dresden remix of above and beyond's no one on earth. a few tracks that i know but cant remember their names, but more than half of them, im not familiar with.

Jordan, lange played from 12 till 2, you shoulda paid more attention buddy, the times were also posted on both sides of the DJ booth

it was good seeing everyone i saw. too bad i didnt get to meet tom and the third sean

Hey Elena, were you the girl in the green shirt up front that people were mentioning? I don't remember myself, but saw a couple posts about it on fnk. The mix you mentioned was the Tiesto rmx of 'love comes again'. Yeah $40 at the door was a bit steep, but they were definetely a bit worried about being able to cover their costs so it had to be done. Did you have to pay 40$? It's definetely best to get tix in advance and easy since they only went up in price at the door, so you could even grab tix day of in the stores for $30. If you did pay that, then next time just get tix in advance girl! Or if you can't get tix in time, just PM me or email me and I'll get you in at the door for whatever the ticket cost was. I'll be around for all these guys' shows giving them my full support.
Anyways elena all you guys have to come out to Viva for fri the 23rd and come up and say hi and introduce yourself! The Viva date I agreed to with Danny will be the first official booking I've taken for a van show since headlining that 'Sky High' party in van last summer! Sean Gallagher(Seany G) will be opening for me and danny playing b4 him.. so it's going to be one hell of a night!!!
See you there!

The price for the party was a bit steep for me, hence not going, but it sounds like a pretty good evening.

Elena - *#)(@*#, I didn't even realised you were back

Tom, is that July 23? If I'm in Vancouver, then I'll definitely try and come out and meet people (though I might be camping that weekend).

should i also remember to bug you about it, constantly? :P
hey, i'll be there!

tom, no, i was not the girl in a green shirt. i had a white shirt that said 'holland' on it. thanks to danny, i didnt pay to get in, but i still think $40 was slightly steep seeing how it was said it'd be $30 at the door. but i completely understand organizers' worries, it was a small venue and the store price for tickets was fairly low.

asher, i came back 2 weeks ago, now im ready to return hehehe

Ah ok! I do remember seeing a girl with a holland shirt.. The actual ticket cost that it says on the flyer was $25 for the first 100, and $30 thereafter, then more at the door. Compared to payin 80$ at the door for shows in the plaza of nations big venue it's a lot better tho! I'd imagine if they sold a tonne of advance tix the door ones woulda only been $35.. but since so many people didn't buy advance tix they were worried about covering the costs. Crazy when you think about it.. flying Lange over from the uk just for a somewhat small intimate show like that!

Yeah yeah :P I was too busy having fun (doing whatever it was I was doing) that I pretty much forgot why I wanted to go to this show in the first place(to see Lange).

Whatever, I had a great time hanging out and bullshitting with the peeps from TA so it's all good.

I'd like to come over for the 23rd but i'll have to wait and see as i'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled on the 21st. So if I don't look like a chimpmunk, i'll have to come over, if not, i'll be over to see Niklas Harding for sure.
