Do you guys ever sample vocals from other songs? I'm not talking about using acapellas for the entire duration of the track to create a mashup like thing, but sometimes in tracks you get a little bit with a vocal, and no background so u can use it to the same effect as an acapella .. like sampling the 'bass drop (echo.. bass drop)' in Fatman Scoop - 'Be Faithful'..

correct.

When I record, after a phrase when I drop the next track, it comes on the 2nd beat (the Hi Hat), and to me it doesnt sound that good. Though its still on beat and on phrase. I'd like the first bass drum to be heard at the very start of the phrase of the transitio.

If you have fader start, I like using the "No No Notorious" from Nototious BIG - Notorious.

I like also using the first beat of N'Sync & Nelly - Would you be my Girlfriend

Old sample from a Duran Duran track... but that's another story.

Cheers
