Sorry if i will offend anyone, but what about makeing some rules for who can be the judge, like, i don't really trust "tranceaddict in training" as a judge, he just might be a friend of some dj, that's all, peace. |
on one hand i agree, but there are already stipulations on judge selections stated in the rules. on top of that, the last competition, only 2 judges handed in scores.. there were a lot of ties because of that. Often its difficult to get judges, and even more difficult to get them to take the time out of their busy schedules to listen to all the submitted mixes, score them according to the criteria, and submit that. If each set is 60-80 mins, and say 20 get submitted, that's anywhere from 20-27 hours straight of listening, and that's one time through only.
besides, it'd be noticeable if someone gave everyone medicore, average or ok scores, and gave one guy 25/25s across the board or 24/25s, when other judges rate it say 10/25. something questionable like that, i'm sure would be looked into and would have disqualifications or reprecussions of some sort.
besides, this competiton isn't based solely on scoring, i'm sure many competitors, judges and idle participants would agree, the point of this competition is in spirit, for fun. the scores are like icing, and scoring well is the cherry on top. =)
i know for me it gives me encouragement to keep pushing myself to do better as the last two compos my beatmatching and harmonics have licked and i haven't been able to crack the top 5 yet because of it. =D
