i hope that Godskitchen Saturdays @ Ikon will bring about some sort of ressurection of the EDM scene here in NYC. To me, its at its lowest peak. Disgusted by the scene. It's sad =T I was at Avalon a couple weeks for Tall Paul, and the vibe.. it was just horrible. Disgusting. People werent there for the DJ. People werent there for the love of the music. People were toooo wasted on their drinks, if not they was tripping ever so badly on their candy.
Where's the vibe? its sucks... i really hope Godskitchen doesnt turn out to be another commercialized party. =T There are people out there who love the electronic dance music scene and arent neccesarily there to roll hard. Some want to go through the journey and experience of the great DJ who comes to NYC to do a live PA/Set and just want to have some fun.
lol, why am i spilling my heart out. |
I completely agree with you on the scene today. Although I spin mostly at "desi" parties, the vibe is similar. Everyone there is there to get piss drunk and act like complete idiots. It's really sad. If you throw on house music there, which is what I play to open, they stand there like they dont know how to move. They dont appreciate music at all. I dont know if they really ever will, since their mostly into that mainstream crap.
