I picked up a couple of records that he remixed and have been very impressed by his production work. I have not seen him dj yet. I have to be honest, though. I sent him an e-mail just to let him know that I enjoyed his production and used some of his tracks and never heard back. I rate dj's by talent at first, but if I find a reason to think they are ego cases or too important, I'm not really interested anymore. That is the impression he gave me. I'll still by his tracks though, cause they're bad ass!

give the guy the benefit of the doubt as Scottaculous did and be helpful or say nothing at all

I totally agree with you.

too many ppl on here now are just to eager to flame someone for not knowing something.
none of us was born knowing this stuff, we all had to learn at some point so instead of the more senior members of TA acting like prize pricks, why don't u share the knowledge you know with those who are new to the scene or in this case, a person that comes from a region of the world with little exposure to trance.
is that not what these forums are for ?
to help share the knowledge and the music to ppl not so in the know as us ?

I said this before and Ill say it again Markus Schultz is becoming Americas pride and joy for trance. His unique style mixed with his passion for music has been seen and heard in his broadcast sets and live performances. I dont care what the b#llshit rankings say this man is definetly in my top 10 DJ's of 2004. I see a very bright future for this man and I am intrigued by the music he plays ; unlike what I am hearing from all other djs out there.

Whoa, hold on, you know. Let's not forget another big American trance DJ - Christopher Lawrence. I think people just tend to forget him because he doesn't have a progressive / euro-trance sound to his music. He's an individualist who continues to stand firm by what he enjoys, and he should be commended for it. Because of that same individualism I don't think he'll achieve the same widespread popularity that Markus Schulz can achieve, but that doesn't mean we should discount his nor other American DJs' and producers' accomplishments.

Not that I take offense at anything anyone posted, but Kuala Lumpur eventhough far from being the trance central of the world , has seen the likes of many an international talent. This year alone I got to see, Tiesto, D.Seaman, Ahley Caselle, Ferry corsten, Timo Maas, Fergie, John Digweed, BT, Judge Jules, Carl Cox and many others. Trance is alive and well here, its just that many American Djs / producers don't get much exposure here till they make it big internationally. Much love tho, and big ups to Chris Lawrence, whose track 'Rush Hour' is seeing a resurgence in a heavily remixed form on local dj sets. In Trance we Trust.

This thread is about Markus, not other DJs being "up there" with him.

Why "American Wunderkid"? The guy´s not American although he lives in Miami...
