are producers really running out of ideas? or feel the need for a quick buck? i mean i heard this last night and it sounded good and all, its originally a good track imo, but why not spend the time and energy making a remix of something that’s already been done and is in the past into creating something new and original? i mean you don’t hear 'enter sandman 2004' or 'smells like teen spirit 2004' or 'stairway to heaven 2004 re edit' do you?? why is it like this with dance music? |
Thats what i am thinking as well(though am a fan of the Ferry corsten version)
Toufas posted an interview with Armin. Toufas asked him, What do you think of all the remakes and remixes of old tracks.
I was like here comes the answer we all expect "lack of ideas"
Armin replied:
It's because of the download and sharing scene, they are loosing money so they can't invest in new producers. Well why do you remake communication 2 times? and why are all the major producers remaking and remixing everything? with your time and money that your putting in this remaking/remixing projects you can invest it in the new producers.
I just think, labels are afraid to do that, they rather want to be very selective, and if they need money they let some major producer remake something, even if it's crap, the majority will say: he/she is famous, so lets buy it
