I'm assuming multiple molds composed on top of each other and then split into pieces. They can fill the void in between two molds to create the separator shape. Just a guess though, I did some work with molds in college.

I think for them moving they had multiple lines running the length of the stadium. There could have been a single motor on the line that can run along hte length and also raise and lower the line below it. Who knows though
