Where did you hear that from?

It certainly looked pretty busy by that time... we had to queue to get in the main arena! I thought he'd just been delayed (stuck in 'traffic', ho ho ho)... something must have gone wrong at some point though because they were very behind schedule and Armin only ended up playing for ~40 minutes or so.

Tiesto pulled that in 2002 at the Koolhaus, he was tired to begin with, you could tell he was jetlagged but the place was packed to see him because he tore the koolhaus apart with a legendary set in 2001. He played a horrible set with no flow or anything and about 3 hours into his 4 hour set, a cdj overheats, which I'm sure happens every so often, machines overheat and breakdown but noooooo, he did not just switch to vinyl and forget the cdj or use the other one, he stormed off stage to his manager and refused to play anymore, they had to get the deejay that was following him up, out of the lounge about an hour early to play. I left at that point because it was pathetic, 2300 people paid a decent prize, average ticket was 30-38 bucks, so full house, he came on late as well. Pathetic display, sure deejays are only human but I mean c'mon cdj overheat all the time, it was good he got off tho because the set was just horrible.

I've also seen deejays bitch about the equipment while playing. Steve Lawler is a picky bastard at times and he got the AV guy at one point trying to sort something out, there was no difference with the sound in the first place. He played 6.5 hrs (only scheduled to play something like 3 or 4 hrs) for 15 bucks.

i cant remember now, but we where told firstly that he was delayed and then we where told that he actually saw how many people where still outside (which included myself) and he was supposed to have refused to play until later on. dont know if it is actually true or not, but just what i got told

Haha yeah those queues were fucking HUGE... mate of mine was waiting 3 hours in the main one. Lets hope the NEC door staff get their acts together for this years event (if it's on)

The thing that pains me the most to think about when these big DJ's do things like that is how much they got payed, when I'd play at any of these clubs for free on shitty equipment :/

I know a guy that because there were no monitors in the dj booth turned on his latest mix cd and pretended like he was actually spinning the whole time. Wasn't a "big name" thou.

i swear i was at this party, and i dont remember him storming off! I remember the cdj breaking down, him getting upset, but getting on with it a few mintues later. He finished his set, and signed his headphones and tossed them in the crowd. Thats what i remember happening.
